Where were you in 2025 when eBay killed the app?

This incompatibility issue with older devices is just pure nonsense.
The app still resides on my iPhone SE with iOS 15.8.3 and launches ever so briefly when clicking on an eBay email automatically sent via one of my saved searches.
This viewing in the app is syncing momentarily with my Mac mini, and notifications are registering on the app too.

Of course, this awful “Update required” popup just freezes the screen and sends you around in circles.
None of the retail, banking, entertainment, or social media apps on my iPhone have ever acted like this.
It’s a total disgrace, and as I mentioned earlier here today, it’s BAD DESIGN, folks.

A Community Manager has responded to this issue with this announcement:

The latest eBay app version is no longer compatible with android 9 and below. It actually requires OS android 10 and above. If you have another device with android 10 and above you can check the most recently updated eBay app version and see if you can view images.

If you are using OS android 10 and above and still have issues with viewing images on the app please let me know. State what version you use and type of device and I'll have it looked into further by tech.
