Problems with eBay app.

Just had the £5.00 off offer if I installed the eBay app on my phone.  Downloaded the app, selected my item, but all I got was a "Thank you for your purchase" pop up.

I was not linked to the payment screen and for the life of me could not see any way to got to that screen and make my payment.

Finally gave up and purchased te item for fulll price on my PC eBay account.

Anyone else having similar problems with this app?

Problems with eBay app.

I'm not sure how eBay are getting away with all this. It seems they are the law to themselves.

I just received this pop up.

Download the app for £5 off

I even read the T&Cs. Couldn't find any rules or limitations. So I downloaded the app.  There is no £5 off. If you spend over £50 you can possibly get £5 off your NEXT order.

No mention of this on the pop up message or T&C's.

Then I constantly get this message???

What on earth does that mean? It looks like selling is free on eBay to me. So why am I charged £1+ every time I sell an item between £3-£5?

Be nice to receive my selling fees back as it's free to sell.

I just don't understand how they get away with this.

Now I need to go and uninstall the eBay app and then remove my Google play account. I don't use it. At nearly 60 years old I have no requirement for apps.

What a terrible waste of time. On a lie

Thanks for this info, I wondered about this too as I'm constantly getting
pop-ups to use the app & get £5 off. I don't see how any seller can want to
comply with £5 less, so it'll be Ebay who compensates them, & Ebay must be
tempting people with this 'offer' on future purchases to part with details
for data mining. I get enough advertising emails as it is.

Twice Ive tried it now, no code, anywhere.  Why do companies with loyal customers do such things!  Offering something free to do something then making it impossible to claim or adding conditions afterwards just screams 'we are trying to fool you'!  I may have kept the app, I may have downloaded it eventually anyway, but I will now uninstall it and not use it again. Fool me once, shame on you.
