Just tried opening the app on my android phone and get the message "this version is no longer supported. Please update to the latest version". Pressing the "update" goes to Google play but the only options are "Uninstall" or "Open" - no option to update. Pressing "Cancel" closes the app.
I suspect they pushed a new version of the app to deal with the changes introduced overnight but something has gone wrong somewhere.
Anyone else got this issue?

Just a reminder to everyone - rate the app in the Play Store, mentioning that it no longer supports Android 9, and also send a complaint to eBay's customer service. Maybe they'll get the message

Me too - absolutely ridiculous that this bogus 'update' has gone unresolved for so long now, if people don't have any desktop access how on earth does Ebay think this was a good decision to suddenly spring on its sellers??
Plus the desktop version is so clunky nowadays to list & keep up to date with offers... Ebay should really update that rather than exclude app users simply for not having the newest, up to date mobile devices to host it - have been on Ebay for nearly 18 years, currently have over 400 listings, and not being able to monitor my shop properly anymore might end my loyalty to them, just hope Ebay fixes things soon before the mass exodus!! 😕

Give people a warning but no.
So sorry to say we have all had it from a great high. 😡

I think I may have a solution to this problem.
If you’re buying or selling on eBay, you will no doubt get emails from them containing a link to the item you’re buying or selling.
When you do get an email with the link to your item, click on the item link and it will take you to your item.
As the eBay page opens, you will see the annoying message, ‘Update Required’
DO NOT click ‘EXIT’ button with the ‘Update’ box, but simply go back to your email message and click the same item link and you should be taken to your eBay item minus the ‘Update Required’ message.
It’s not a permanent fix, but it should give you access to the app.
Good luck !

Hi, I’m getting a message when I try to open the eBay app. That it is no longer compatible & to upgrade. I have pressed upgrade. But it’s still not opening the app? I have already deleted the eBay app & installed. Still having the same problem.

Hi,
I'm using Android 13 on my Pixel 4a but after factory reset (battery replacement) I can't reinstall eBay app as Google Play it's coming with message:
This phone isn't compatible with this app.
despite of the fact that it was working absolutely fine before and not sure if Android 13 was re-installed.

If you have performed a factory reset then it will probably have reverted to an earlier version of android, i.e. whatever version the phone originally came with.
You can check the version currently installed by going to Settings > System > About phone > Android version and then if necessary reinstall the latest version available by going to Settings > System > Advanced > Software update.

Hi,
Definitely worth to try but unfortunately cleaning cache & data didn't help either - still the same message.

From my phone.
Going to later android offers no better security, when play store let's rogue apps in by default. Thanks millions users now moving to diff app now bye

I think eBay should stop messing about with things that already work well. We have been eBay members for 21 years and suddenly we can't use our phones and no we don't want to update them!

I have same issue on my Galaxy tab, going round in circles, uninstall and re-installed the app only for the same thing to occur again and again
