As regards anything IT I am a complete idiot, so please treat me as such in any reply! Ebay have suggested that I review my security features. I've tried to do this but as it normally asks me to sign in as facebook I just go straight through without being asked for my password. However, I need to re-sign in to change things like my password etc, and it won't accept the password I originally set up for the account. When logged in as facebook I've been able to change my FB password, but that still doesn't get me to my original EB password! I've tried contacting Ebay direct to get help with this, but have just been going round in circles on their website and have been unable to either email them or indeed speak to an actual human being. Can somebody kindly help me.....in simple terms please?
I too am wondering if this might be a phishing email. But if it's genuinely from Ebay (it will be in your Ebay message inbox too), I think you'll need to contact Ebay about this. There is no email support (it was stopped many years ago) and you can't phone at the moment, due to Covid staff shortages; but Live Chat and Request-a-Callback are available in working hours (Help & Contact is at top and foot of any page). I requested a callback a few days ago, and was called back in less than a minute.
If the email was not from Ebay (but purporting to be), I hope you didn't click on any links...? If it wasn't and you did, come back for further advice.
