Hello
You do not need to chase the buyer for payment as eBay sends all the relevant emails for buyer to pay
Also buyer knows that payment is due as bidded for your item & won !!!
Some seller waits 2 or more days for payment !! You do not need to chase the buyer for it as eBay sends all the relevant reminders for buyer to pay
If a buyer does not pay you for item then you have to use the tools at your disposition by opening an un-paid item case for you to get your FVF fees back at least 2 days after item sold then close it 4 days later (you will have to close it manually yourself )
You have to do this before re-listing item
Read all about it here for more info
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/unpaid-items.html
Add the buyer's ID to your Blocked Bidders List.
http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BidderBlockLogin
Set your preferences as thigh as possible
http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BuyerBlockPreferences&guest=1
Do not leave a neg on a positive for feedback as it will be removed & your account marked !! Buyer won't be able to either leave feedback
So by using the tools at your disposition you are in effect helping as if buyer has 2 un-paid item cases over 12 months then buyer will be unable to buy from other seller(s) also as most have set their preferences to deal with non payers & time waster(s)
Hope this helps

Here's my standard format, word for word, sent off immediately the bidding has finished:
Congratulations on your successful bid. On receipt of your outstanding balance of £6.65 - £3.85 + £2.80 postage, your item will be posted off within one working day, and positive feedback will be left. Thanking you for custom, yours,
Frederick E Woodworth
When advertising an item for sale I always put: "Will buyers please ensure all payments are made within seven clendar days. Thank you."
Followed by my signature which I live by: Going the extra mile is standard.
Few people mess me about, but I have an automatic non-payment system for anybody over eight days. If somebody emails me and says: "Sorry, can you wait until the end of the month until I get paid?" No problem - I know the score, but if they havent communicated with me within one calendar week, not only do I write them off, I also add their names to my blocked bidder list, and tell them. I hope this helps.

If the buyer does not communicate, open a unpaid item dispute after 48 hours.
It may seem tough but the buyer still has another four days to pay after opening a dispute and why should you give them any more time if they've not bothered to talk to you?

Why give them more time? Because I'm a very nice boy: I know - my mother told me!!
