Amazon DOUBLES minimum spend for free delivery - even if you're a Prime member !! Online shopping giant Amazon has come under fire for 'sneakily' introducing a delivery charge for customers using its same day delivery service.
The changes mean shoppers will have to cough up a £3.99 delivery cost plus a £2 tip for the driver on orders under £40, even if you're a £79-a-year paying Prime subscriber.
That's despite Prime selling itself as the online subscription that offers free unlimited deliveries for a year...

They are getting a lot of flack for this and quite rightly - although the "tip" is optional, but suggests to me that the drivers are expected to augment their paltry pay by being very nice to customers to try and get the extra £2.
Woe betide any customer who fails to deliver to the delivery person.
I've steadfastly refused to even consider signing up for it as I've always thought it was a rip-off.
You'll need to check the T&Cs to see if there's a loophole to them just increasing the minimum spend - I'd assume there would be but it's worth looking to see if it's possible to cancel the contract under any grounds - eg no-one seems to have been given any warning or option to opt out.
The eBay connection is a worry though - and it's this wretched practice of sellers who sell on eBay, but buy and send your item as a gift from Amazon.
If any of them are using Prime, then the poor buyer could find their items being delivered by the flying parcel service, over the fence, banged agains the front door etc.

There is still no minimum spend to get free delivery as a Prime member.
It is Prime Now delivery that has the minimum spend - Prime Now is the 2 hour delivery option - Prime is the next day free delivery.
