Who remembers the old posting boards? Good days!

I'm sat just about to list some bits and bobs and thought back to when the posting boards were so different.

I rarely come here now, but have some great memories 😊

A few that come to mind...

* There was WOS (RIP) who always kept us entertained.

*Andy who's query posts were always cryptic but you got there in the end 

* The night we took over the board masquerading as cartoon characters (I've forgotten the name of them)

* So many 'code 42's!

* Drunken Friday night ramblings by a certain poster.

* The guy who's witty feedback responses had us in bits

* Friday fight nights

* Being too scared to enter the 'Round Table' board!

* Having complete threads removed by a rather grouchy mod just for using CAPS in the title, ha ha!

Anyone else here remember these days, or have you all gone?

I first registered in September 2001.

My original posting ID was registered in February 2002.

I registered this ID originally in March 2002 but switched it to use as a posting ID when they changed the board "rules" in 2010. Of course, they went and changed the rules again but I couldn't be bothered to go back to my original.

I think the two oldest posters on the original boards were Eddie (Lancashire-lad) and George (geo1pat1).

I first registered in Nov 03 but didn't start posting until around March 04. The place was a lot busier then it has to be said.

It was. There would be at least 4 pages of posts every day.

I thought I had landed in the loony bin the first time I came on the RT, but I soon settled in the madness and loved it. Good memories.

...ah Truff (wasn't that his (Dave?) dog's name?) and his passion for aviation....

...Hamburg Airport.... Vlad and Scarlett were hysterical....canals, ironing boards, ships....it's amazing what people saw in that post card! That was a WEEK I shall always remember....and treasure....my husband thought I'd gone completely bonkers though....

It was like a social club back then... Mind you there were some surprises...especially when one of the seemingly 'reserved members'...posted a photo of his ...ahem...'member'.....I'm not too sure what prompted it...but to say it was out of character was an understatement! Then one night everyone ended up watching a very 'odd' webcam site...that necessitated a clearing of cache and cookies!!!😳 Not sure how or why but it was what you could describe as an 👀eye opener!!! Then there was the one about 'Volvos'.... and the listings for bondage gear with that very weird woman 'demonstrating' nipple clamps.....😱

....could be quite risqué ....until the AYRABs started arguing the toss...🙁

was definitely more fun...a bit 'clique-ish' at times...but always a laugh...

I used to post on here way too much regularly.. this was such a busy board and a really good laugh. I made real life friends from the people I met here, and am still in contact with a few as well. Then it all went bad... the mods got the hump with the posters, the posters got the hump with the mods, and almost everyone left or was banned for silly rules..

It's nice to see some old faces on here again, and despite ebay not being as good as it was (both selling and posting) somehow, we are still plodding on 😊

I reckon my death bed last words will be:
Have I got any unanswered questions on ebay?"
