UK police step up search for 400,000 missing Romanian and Bulgarian immigrants

Police have launched a large-scale operation including sniffer dogs and up to 30 officers to search for 400,000 missing immigrants from Bulgaria and Romania.

The immigrants were last seen boarding planes in their hundreds of thousands on the front pages of the Daily Mail and Daily Express newspapers in the early hours of Wednesday morning but authorities say there has been no sign of any of the immigrants for the last two days.

Police have made detailed searches in the vicinity of Heathrow and Gatwick airports with officers making house-to-house inquiries in various locations around the country and alerts have been placed at all entry points into the UK for authorities to keep a look out for the missing eastern Europeans.

Authorities are concerned for the safety of the immigrants, 400,000 of whom had been expected to turn up on Nigel Farage’s doorstep, wearing scarves on their heads, old trousers tucked into Wellington boots and knitted shawls around their shoulders, demanding benefits and buckets of straw to feed their horses.

Police have renewed their appeal for anyone who may have any information regarding the immigrants’ whereabouts to come forward.

I dont get it. Romanians have been here for years so how come its only now they are allowed. Many years ago it was the windscreen washers at the traffic lights, recently its the 'find the lady' scammers in london tourist spots, many have been camped at Hyde park for months, so if they have only just been allowed in, how come these were here so long before Jan 1st??  Its always puzzled me. Thousands were already here way before that date. Anyone know?

What makes you think that 400,000 Romanians and Bulgarians, who have suffered through almost a century of communism and all of its attendant terrors could AFFORD airline tickets?  They are probably utilizing home made surf boards, push carts, and other such means of transportation.  Who is Nigel...what was his name?

They come in arranged mini busses, to and from a location in Edmonton north london where a very large public house is now rooms full of beds like a hostel kind of place. Probably loads more similar set ups,  but thats the one I personally know of as its only about 9 miles from me. Romanians run the mini busses, they then get dropped off to the many car wash stations for cash in hand work, a bit is taken for the rent and a meal, the rest is sent home. Its great for our economy, we get no tax from it, they get to build houses for peanuts back home and the British are banned from buying land to do the same in their country. Its a wonderful opportunity for our 'eton mess' of a government to help the economy........their economy not ours that is.

Mind you, they do a really good job on the cars for a tenner, look brand new.  Really give a good service happy to work an all that, course they are, from earning in an hour what they used to earn a day sure they beam a smile, they wont have to pay normal life expenses here so they undercut whatever the wage should be. Shame about the valetting companies that have gone to the wall though, must have been the tax and insurance they had to pay by being legal. Hey Ho
