This unfolding tragedy around Europe

We pay politicians to act on our behalf, throughout Europe and the rest of the developed world the plight of those fleeing war, famine, religious persecution etc is being ignored. Surely it is not beyond the realms of sensibility for us to expect, even demand a collective humane response by the international community to agree action in those countries where terrorists reign. Allowing and encouraging the victims to flee is wrong, they deserve and should be given the right to live peacefully where they were born and like the rest of us have the freedom to travel abroad and see other cultures. The Russians and Chinese stand by and watch while quietly selling weapons to these terrorists. The west interfered yet never considered the impact they would have. It is time the UN grew up and did what it was formed to do.

True but beware the Curfew remains and banter is still taboo. The life support machine is on but we know not for how long.

Books, are you implying I made this story up to stir up resentment?

Hi harry and ok from other thread 🙂  agree with statistic nonsense.

The problem we face (we as caring people)  is not the stories told eg ...

to tell a story about a culture that sheds negative light on that culture does not need to be fabricated ...the light is shed.

The authorities were entirely to blame for not enforcing the house and parking rules on a different cultures way of doing things ...yet same said authorities  over compensate the rules on others ( even the staff ) ...was the nurse fined Mexican for example ...in which case is that racist of the authority or was she Romanian  (again is the authority racist ? )

By having two standards ..in one instance  someone has to swallow or face the (Importance) of their mistake,,the other forgiven and tolerated ......the authorities with the priority on punishments/fines  for mistakes, ignorance, arrogance cannot be showing double standards ...but they are and that is where and only where the problem is. The priorities of these ticket waving lunatics are in the bin and the governments laws in most countries are also in the bin and we as caring people are the ones suffering the ignorance arrogance and mistake called 'Them'

So on the story.yet again the cretins in charge need to go and the kind we all want to see put in....my gut says 'wont happen' as I think its deliberately done to grind us down for the big picture which is ..justify something being done when clueless and charge the tax payer.

If I went to a Romanian hospital and all parked in the right space and all went in two's and came and went in a strict visiting code yet a group of  non nationals were doing however they pleased or.. If the nationals were all over the place then.wth do we all assume is happening to people management and is it incapable for the job or an agenda..Either way that is the problem we as caring people face.

1)Sort of. You've already had one attempt (post #41)

2)No.

Have you ever heard the story of the Boy Who Cried Wolf?

Well that is your perception, Books.

If an observation is in your eyes equal to stirring up resentment, then we're all going to be in deep trouble.

I'll add something more to my hospital story. More observations................I live in a very multi cultural neighbourhood.

In my street I have some Romanian neighbours. They are lovely people. A couple with two children. Totally integrated. We let on to each other, we help each other where needed etc. Everyone likes them, everyone gets on with each other. So no problems. No resentment at all.

On the other hand we had at the other end of the street about 12 Romanians moving in a terraced house about a year ago. They ripped the house apart, threw their rubble in the street. Held loud parties till the early hours and their kids were still running around outside at 3 in the morning.

I tried to have a friendly chat with them to see if I could get them to phone the council to take away the mess they had put out on the pavement. At the end of the day they might not have known the council would come and collect it. I tried to reach out and even offered help if they might need it. I asked them if they could keep the noise down a bit at night as a lot of people needed their sleep to get to work in the morning. Just being reasonable, not demanding. I'm a non threatening person. I'm not aggressive and will always talk instead of screaming at people.

It didn't help. Nothing changed. So in the end half the neighbourhood complained to the council and they were removed from the house.

So my observation is that if people who come to live here abide by the same rules no one has any problems.

All people want is equal treatment, whether they are black, white, brown, yellow, red or purple.

And regarding my own race...I don't have blond hair in plaits, nor do I wear clogs. Smiley Tongue

My "observation" is you popped up on this thread with some BS story:

You can't really blame someone for doubting your latest "story" considering the aforementioned. And I'm not sure of the relevance of your OT hospital tale and the "unfolding tragedy around Europe".

I was visiting my husband last weekend in the MRI and we were having a cigarette outside in the smoking shelter with one of the nurses, who was clearly very upset and angry about the situation in the foyer and the fact that no one from management dared to speak up. She felt utterly powerless.
My hospital story was relevant to the thread topic as it is our observations, our witnessing of things like that, which influences our opinion about being happy or not to let refugees in.
My other stories about the people in my neighbourhood are also relevant as it shows that not everyone from the same race, country, religion etc... behaves the same.

Nothing over the top about it, nor is it taurus manure.

We have to remember that the interpretation of a post is in the hands of experienced moderators and in this case one who appears to specialise in such judgement. Whilst the crisis surrounding Europe manifests itself in many ways It may not be possible to relate all of ones experiences or personal opinions without straying into territory that might be viewed as off topic.

The following cartoon has been widely shown on social media, it was drawn by Australian Simon Kneebone in response to migrant problems on the other side of the world but it is just as appropriate to events in the med.

It would be more helpful if moderators went about things in a different way.

Although they are not permitted to "discuss" a member directly, a clearer explanation of why an intervention has been made would make the intervention seem more "friendly" and less like "The Heavy Hand".............. wouldn't it?
