Mad, ignorant, racist, bigoted egomaniac, Trump seems to have blown his chances of going for the US Presidency.
Breathe a sigh of relief.
Washington (CNN) Donald Trump's statement that Muslims should be banned from entering the United States "disqualifies" him from being president, the White House spokesman said Tuesday.
"The fact is what Donald Trump said yesterday disqualifies him from serving as president," White House press secretary Josh Earnest said in Tuesday's press briefing. For a White House administration to so heavily weigh in on an opposing party's nominating contest is a highly unusual step.
Earnest noted first that every president must take an oath to "preserve, protect and defend" the U.S. Constitution, and thus, he said, Trump would not qualify.
"For Republican candidates for president to stand by their pledge to support Mr. Trump, that in and of itself is disqualifying," Earnest said. "The question now is about the rest of the Republican Party and whether or not they're going to be dragged into the dustbin of history with him. And right now the current trajectory is not very good."
And Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook on Tuesday said -- without hitting the Republican front-runner by name -- that Trump's comments put U.S. national security at risk.
"Anything that bolsters ISIL's narrative and pits the United States against the Muslim faith is certainly not only contrary to our values but contrary to our national security."
He also said that there are "many men and women in uniform today of Muslim faith who are serving this country patriotically."
The U.S. is working with Muslim nations right now, Cook noted. "We want to, in essence, take the fight to ISIL with the help of Muslims around the world."

I think he is a shallow, ignorant and dangerous idiot who doesn't put his small brain into gear before mouthing off. I suspect that his recent stupid remarks will incite more attacks in the US resulting in the deaths of ordinary citizens. He has probably made himself a prime target too although I have no sympathy for that.
And how, hypothetically, if he could exclude muslims from entering the US, would he go about it? Is every tourist or visitor on business to be asked what religion they are on entry, and how would they prove their honesty or not? Stupid brainless man who thinks he is important just because he is a billionaire and can pay for his own campaign.
Already there are almost 200,000 signatures to a petition to ban him from entering the UK. I doubt it will make any difference but at least it will have to be discussed in parliament. I'd like to think he could be stopped from visiting his environmentally damaging golf courses. Failing that dump him in the middle of Birmingham or the parts of London he claims our police are afraid to go.

The Huffington post has moved their coverage of Trump to the entertainment section
"After watching and listening to Donald Trump since he announced his candidacy for president, we have decided we won't report on Trump's campaign as part of The Huffington Post's political coverage. Instead, we will cover his campaign as part of our Entertainment section. Our reason is simple: Trump's campaign is a sideshow. We won't take the bait. If you are interested in what The Donald has to say, you'll find it next to our stories on the Kardashians and The Bachelorette."

Best place for him, Joe
He is no longer a business ambassador to Scotland, since this afternoon, and might lose his honarary degree too.
Trump dropped as global Scot
Donald Trump has been stripped of his status as a Scotland business ambassador by First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, Press Association reports.
He has had his membership of the GlobalScot business network withdrawn, a Scottish government spokeswoman confirmed.
"Mr Trump's recent remarks have shown that he is no longer fit to be a business ambassador for Scotland and the First Minister has decided his membership of the respected GlobalScot business network should be withdrawn with immediate effect."
Mr Trump had been a member of GlobalScot since being invited to join in 2006.
The network of business leaders, entrepreneurs and executives with a connection to Scotland was set up by Scottish Enterprise in 2001.
There are also calls for the businessman to be stripped of his honorary degree from Robert Gordon University (RGU) in Aberdeen.
More than 20,000 people have now signed a petition calling for him to be stripped of his honorary degree from Robert Gordon University (RGU) in Aberdeen.
He had been awarded a Doctorate of Business Administration in October 2010. His position is being considered, the current principal Professor Ferdinand von Prondzynski said.

He's harking back to the age of the Klu Klux Klan, which wasn't short of its own supporters in the Southern States; but I really thought America had moved on from those Days...........looking at the World, the picture is rather depressing; because, although technology has evolved & progressed, Human society really hasn't progressed much at all..........has it !!

Anyone can write a news report and make it serve the point they are trying to make.
But without names of the alleged police officers being made public to verify this information it kind of makes it a fairytale.

I don't think Trump should be barred from entering Britain. We are constantly telling the rest of the world how we are a nation where free speech is encouraged, we can't only allow the people we agree with to have a say. We either allow free speech or we don't, there can't be any half measures. I would rather see him allowed in and given an opportunity to try and justify his stupid and obnoxious statements, maybe invite him on to BBC Question Time. Next week's edition is from Slough where there is a substantial immigrant population, that would be interesting viewing.
To be honest I think the only one being damaged by his diatribe against Muslims is himself. If anything it seems to have had a unifying effect. A week or so after the Paris attacks it was difficult to find anybody with a good word to say about Muslims, now it's unusual to hear a word said against them. Whether that's a good thing I don't know but he certainly seems to have shot himself in the foot.
I really don't think that he ever had a hope in hell of being elected President, now his chances look even more remote. Even if he wins the Republican candidacy, his actions and words have more or less guaranteed that Hillary Clinton will be in the White House this time next year.

Do you REALLY believe that!
WHat of those Muslim clerics who preach hate or anti gay chants at football matches - that OK? Just let them get on with it?
