Two-fifths of Lib Dem donations came from three men...and they've been recently made peers.
More than £600,000 of cash donations in 2012 from three wealthy men Ministry of Sound nightclub boss James Palumbo has given £1m in total. He and Domino's Pizza businessman Rumi Verjee entered Lords last year. A third donor, clothing tycoon Raj Loombo, was also made a life peer.
They are among 34 Lib Dem who have been given life peerages by Mr Clegg since 2010 elections.
It is true that if there was no peerage and House of Lords we wouldn't have this problem. I always thought achieving something was required for an honour? It just makes the whole house a total joke. How and why should we respect the thickness of a WALLET?

Maybe reading a little about the work Angeline Jolie has done both in the humanitarian and animal welfare field would explain why she received this honour

Yes, MOST of them are in it together.
I doubt it is overly cynical to suggest that some people might be tempted more by the title of Lord or Lady. Some view it that such people have no place in Parliament.
Parties are not trusted to appoint new peers on merit and an ''independent'' body should have the final say. Ruling out the possibility that individuals could buy a seat in our Parliament matters.
I might have enough here if I can cram it in a large brown envelope? But then who would want to sit among most of those old farts?

- all that is handing them 'out to all and sundry like confetti' - 
By the sound of it you'd like honours to go to someone who has done none of the above because anyone who has is only attention seeking!
Giving Camerons barber an MBE tells you all you need to know about why the honours system is wrong,Me ? well i buy most of my books from charity shops (especially when on offer of 3 for a quid) trouble is it's only usually one i want,so i end up re donating the other two at a later date,I fill the odd charity bag with clothes,couldn't fill them all as we must get at least 3 bags a week,there is also my services to industry (some call it just doing your job) I,m yet to recieve a gilt edged envelope,maybe it's something to do with the royal mail privatization and it's gone astray,who knows?

It's all a system for the political elite to give favours to their mates and donors,If you are a winning sportsman or a successful businessman that should be ample reward,of course there are token awards given to the odd cleaner or dinnerlady
Talking of titles reminds me the time i was working on a row of OAP bungalows,parked outside one there was a car with a "Doctor on call" sign in the window,it was an old fellow living there,and on having a cup of tea with him i asked if he really was a doctor,he said of course my boy,A doctor of music
