Just saw we had another massive flop in this yearly spectacle
is it time to give up ?
How much does it cost licence payers every year ?
btw
Bonnie Tyler was dire, the song itself was barely passable.
so it was not anti-Brit voting
Spectacle =
3. A regrettable public display,
I'm using the word in the 3rd sense

It's way past it's sell-by date.
It's life Jim, but not as WE know it.
Live long and prosper.

Not watched it for years Al,it became farcical and pathetic.Did we come last again?:-(

Just found out, the reason we always reach the final, is that we the BBC licence payers are one of the major financial contributors to it, hence we get straight to final

Went downhill after Lulu won it. Or it might have been Sandie Shaw. There again it could have been Brotherhood of Man, or even Bucks Fizz.
It's more the production side of things now, and less about the actual song. Didn't watch it though, but have just caught bits of it on YOUTUBE, when the back button comes in handy. I gave Bonnie Tyler a full ten seconds. Dire. :_|

I liked the Hungarian lads. 🙂
Mind, I liked the Irish entry ... so what do I know! :^O
I only saw songs 18-26, so can't comment on BT's effort. I thought, generally, it was all a lot calmer than it has been in the past.

I watched the Irish entry this morning
not my type of music but miles better than most, i've caught on youtube

What I liked about it was the "performance" element (the drumming) was an integral part of the song, rather than tacked on for "show" like some of the dancing in other entries seemed to be.
That said, I thought the dancer in the glass box with the lady in the red dress (not sure which country it was) was very effective.

Bonny Tyler is WELL past her sell by date 😞
How can any 61 yr old successfully represent GB,???????
we have loads of young, talented singers here, whoever chose Bonny needs to be Sacked.

She's younger than Engelbert Humperdinck though, so maybe the selectors are working their way downwards to a younger generation entry. 😉

what gets me is the fact the title of the competition says A Song For EUROPE, were all song entries last night actually within the bounds of Europe? take Azerbaijan, the country may be in the EU but its not part of Europe, same as Israel when that country competes the competition, how can Israel be in Europe? well last night I painted my living room wall and sat for hours watching the paint dry, it was either that or poke my eyes out and push knitting needles in my ears.

We'll NEVER win again. Specially if we keep outr troops where they're nor wanted (or needed).
We still wont win again as the countries agsinst us are not gonna forget.
Can you blame them.

I didn't watch it 'cos I don't have a TV.
But I notice on the news that there is now a major diplomatic incident over how Azerbaijan somehow managed to give Russia nil pwaih due to an error in their calculations!!
What were they calculating - either they voted for them or they didn't.
Gotta love it - so now apparently Russia says they wos robbed and wants a recount!
