At this moment he is guilty....but only of adultery. It has not been proved that he is guilty of anything else. People's marriages are their own business. There are many reasons why some people commit adultery. And also many reasons why some people can forgive that betrayal. It takes a very strong person to forgive a betrayal like that, and it does not always signify weakness. Rolf Harris's wife has obviously forgiven him regarding the adultery,and so has his daughter. I admire them both.

I suppose its just my way of thinking,,i know everyone is different but i think a woman is a bit of a doormat forgiving an affair. They normally just go and do it again!!!.

Of all the people to be in this situation, I'm just so surprised that Rolf Harris is going through this type of court case as I would never have thought of him as a sexual predator/abuser and of course as yet it has to be proved that he was. 

Astro, I think you're right. What goes on in a marriage can be so variable in terms of the forgiveness issues sometimes.

Both his wife and daughter to be at the trial means they obviously know the details of the charges and appear ready to support him. I hope their efforts won't be in vain.

Now their talking about  molestation of a 7yr old by him???. More than once in the same occasion too. SICKENING!!.

In fairness to his wife Rose , would you want to sit & listen to all the gory details of your husbands alleged sexual goings on, even if he came clean to her on his affair, to have to sit & listen to the intimate details is another matter, also I believe the poor woman is crippled with arthritis, it can't be easy for her. If he is guilty he deserves everything he gets if not ,well both he & she will still have to go through the mill.

Not least of all, must be realizing that you never really knew the Person you'd shared god knows how many years of your life with. That alone must be pretty hard to come to terms with.

Yes! It's a gut wrencher to be sure, you wanna believe but when faced with all the facts it's one mighty slap in the face! & let's face it
Even if found not guilty for whatever reason, she'll always have that niggling doubt, as the other poster said she's a strong woman if she does stand by him knowing even if he didn't have underage sex he betrayed her for sixteen years!.

Yes,,,,it must be awful,,. Its made me think about him in a totally different way now,,not like i thought he was. Its scary that people can have different sides to them you never even realized. And when its your husband it must be even worse.

Well rose, I've heard it tell we all have a Public life, a Private life and a Secret life.... something to ponder perhaps.

That's a very good saying, Lhasa. I would imagine that we all have secret thoughts that might shock other people if they knew them. And how many of us are perfect, having never done anything wrong? It is my considered opinion that to forgive someone a wrong, not only frees one from the burden of harbouring bitterness and bad feeling, but also gives the one being forgiven the opportunity to cast off guilt and become a new, better human being. To be able to forgive is a wonderful gift.
And it is very apparent that Rolf's wife is not a well woman.....I for one can well imagine her getting up in the morning and feel unable to face another day of seeing her (forgiven) husband pilloried.

Yes your right there,,,and no one is perfect,,not me for sure. And yes we all have things inside or maybe have done things we are not proud of and would never perhaps say openly but keep locked away!!.
