It's that time of year for Osprey watching.

There's a new live webcam at Poole Harbour where the female, CJ7, has been nest building and is waiting for her man.

To watch, the link is here and there is also info on the website about the translocation project to re-introduce a breeding population to the South coast, and a diary of CJ7's activities so far.

I hope she won't have to wait much longer. She has a great view from up there.

Do add others from around the UK. Archie - how about the Scottish one that you used to put up?

Yes that is at the loch of the lowes and can be found on YouTube, they were back early this year but were disturbed by a couple of kayakers. Hopefully all will be ok! There are others at Rutland water, bassenthwaite in the lakes and dyffi in Wales,and at least two pairs at keilder water, this is a real success story and they are wonderful to watch!

Don't the makes usually arrive first?
I think (may be wrong) that the Poole ones paired last year for the first time
If the Poole Harbour male didn't make it over winter to come back here is there a chance that another male will find the female? I think she has been waiting over 2 weeks.

Not necessarily, it seems to vary from pair to pair! The males who do arrive first tend to get on with building the nest only for the female to come along and change it all around, nothing new there then😇
