Now this is the best Joke yet..

Jump off here for the UK: Looking like Casper the Ghost, migrants smuggled here inside a flour tanker... only to be set free by border officials and told how to claim asylum
Nine suspected illegal immigrants emerge from their hiding place - from lorry on the M26Four are seeking asylum - and are expected to begin to claim benefitsThe German lorry had entered from France

Covered in flour, they clamber from a foreign lorry – to the amazement of other motorists on a busy motorway.

This is the moment that at least nine suspected illegal immigrants emerged from their hiding place after smuggling themselves into the UK.

The gang brazenly strolled off into the English countryside. And although all were caught within minutes, almost half were immediately set free. They were even taken to a hostel, given free accommodation and told how to apply for asylum and benefits.

I bet that wasn't ''SELF RAISING'' flour  T.I.

They surely would'nt want to raise themself's.

That would be our job for all of their lives.  (that's possible)

And that would be possible, as they must know 😉

Re: Now this is the best Joke yet..

Wasn't there a thread on here not so long ago saying how impossible it was to live on £51 a week.

Quotes from the DM article

"The graphic illustration of how Britain remains a soft touch for migrants occurred on the M26 in Kent this week."

"They would be given information on how to apply for benefits for asylum seekers, which would start with cash payments of £36 a week"

A real soft touch 😮

😄   Well would'nt you know it?

I think he is suggesting that Britain is not a soft touch?

'Start with cash payments of £36 a week'  And bring your own tent perhaps?

Housing,  heating,  food, clothing, NH'S etc etc etc would be denied perhaps?

That's the key word... START!!!

Re: Now this is the best Joke yet..

Do you really think these men have travelled Lord knows how many miles, suffered goodness knows what hardships and faced untold dangers to come to the UK for £36 a week and a bed in a hostel 😮

They've come here because they believe, rightly or wrongly, that there is an opportunity for them to work - to earn a living and support their families.

If some of our unemployed put just one tenth of the effort, showed just one tenth of the initiative, one tenth of the willingness to move around the country and face just one tenth of the hardships these men have endured in order to better themselves we might find this country would be going forwards rather than backwards.

Or to escape persecution from the authorities in their home country.

Only four out of the nine have been permitted to apply for asylum.

Re: Now this is the best Joke yet..

Not the point that they may have suffered hardship getting here,it's an assumption they have work hard in their minds also for reason and finally you may apply legally for asylum almost anywhere in europe.

They are illegal so therefore against the laws of the land and all should have been returned and told how to apply within the law of this country...but hey ho they might be more a credit than those homegrownfolk spongers so yippee give them more 🙂

My argument was NOT as to whether these men should have the right to stay here.

I was angry that in cases like this the insinuation is clearly made that theses men are nothing but spongers, crossing continents to get here because we are an "easy touch".

Well if £36 a week and a place in a hostel is a life of luxury then let's hear no more from the unemployed receiving twice that amount as well as housing benefit to pay the rent on a proper home!

😄  Exactly!  Lord knows?  And you obviously don't.

'They've come here because they believe, rightly or wrongly, that there is an opportunity for them to work - earn a living and support their families'  (No other reason?)

Once again you don't know.

Tenth your favourite word today.

'We might find this country would be going forwards'

Yes if we took your advice perhaps.  Alright I will think about it ;-).

Why one of these X-( ?   Calm down old chap.

Re: Now this is the best Joke yet..

Why do claims that people risk their lives to get here and are then called spongers make me angry X-(

You say I don't know what hardships these men have faced to get here - well travelling inside a flour tank is not my idea of travelling in luxury 😮

You don't seem to have any problem calling them spongers without any evidence at all 😞

Do immigrants and their children work harder than the people that live in the UK?

If so, can you show me the evidence?

Re: Now this is the best Joke yet..

Is the UK such a soft touch?

Adult asylum seekers receive some €224 ($275) per month plus free housing and basic healthcare.

That's what they get in Germany and the German government has recently been ordered to increase it by the Federal Constitutional Court.

I would suggest that many who try to get into the UK, do so because they know some English.

😄 Adding words that I have not said are we? I never called them spongers .  Though they might be.  So many are.

The evidence is travelling here inside a flour tank.  That's all we have.

I, and some others might not mind that if another country might keep me, and my family, possibly for the rest of our lives.

Yes what makes Mr Creeky angry?

Hi spawn, YES agree. Did you say SPONGERS ;-):-D

Back tomorrow probably.

Anyway, my "bad reads". But if the immigrants are no better ( in your opinion (?). How do we move "forwards"?

I posted "If some of our unemployed put just one tenth of the effort . . . . . .. . . "  - nothing to do with immigrants and their children working harder than people in the UK.

Where are these "frequent" attacks I make on the unemployed ?:|

You posted, "With your frequent attacks on the UK's unemployed insinuating that some were workshy-waste-of-spaces"

Are you really claiming that SOME of the UK's unemployed aren't 'workshy-waste-of-spaces'"!
