Of course, if it was a union threatening power shortages to get their way in a dispute, the Mail, the Sun, the Tory Party and all the usual suspects would be apoplectic with self-righteous rage and condemnation.

But it's not the unions this time is it?

It's Tory Party donating foreign energy companies who are threatening to cut off our power unless we agree to pay their ever increasing exorbitant price rises.

Is that a strong smell of hypocrisy I can detect or is it fear that for once the little UK consumer might be finally about to get one over on the bullying international corporations that have been shafting us mercilessly for the last three decades?

We can but hope.......

The Government are too busy,  taking the EU to court for daring to try and limit Bankers bonuses to 200% of their salary

Energy prices in Britain are among the lowest in Europe, and energy companies take a smaller profit margin than the supermarkets. But don't expect socialists to understand economics; it's much easier for them to give away other people's money as bribes to their supporters.

Ed Miliband says that his bribe will save consumers £120 a year. When he was Energy Secretary in 2009 he increased taxes on energy bills by £109 a year to help Labour's spending spree. But he has conveniently forgotten that.

It should be pointed out that in 2004 the average price in the UK for 1 KWh of gas was 1.6p.

By 2009 that had risen to 4.3p.

Now in 2013 it is 4.6p.

To be honest i dont give a monkeys behind what energy prices are in the rest of europe, i do care what they are here in the UK, and because these energy companies may be capped what do they do? spit thier dummies out and threaten us with blackouts, a pure childish reaction.
