This is tough, really tough, Hats off to Alan and the team for exposing themselves to the crusty clan, or whats left of it. There have been some sweet times and some wretched ones, throughout Mods have come in for a good deal of stick. On occasions that has been justified but it must be tough when things kick off to find a happy medium. So a big well done from me for putting yourselves out there.
Anyone who hasn't seen it go to the cafe and click on Meet the community team.
Don't they all look very young?
Second thoughts maybe I am officially a Fossil.

Might be better if they answered questions about their actions

What a strange thread. Most peculiar.

I was under the misapprehension that apart from ALAN, The other Mods were in the United States, and the reason for many of their decisions on what to censure or remove, was down to Not fully understanding British English, British Humour or our love of sarcasm
The news that they are based in Ireland totally dumbfounds Me

A bit like the EU really, their decisions can't be challenged, or questioned.......and are final. I really don't need to meet people like that thank you, although you seem to like living under that kind of Yoke.

Doesn't look like many on here are remotely interested, 120 odd views and 5 replies. ![]()

The Mods are part of Lithium and I thought they operated out of different locations but not the US.
Those were the old days.
The mods post with just their user names with no eBay email address.
The eBay community staff (wot were Pinks) have the eBay email address as part of their ID and I think - open to correction - that the eBay Community Team are those like Alan, Ilona and others who specialise with the help they can give as opposed to giving nods and warnings about posting on the forums.

Well personally I couldn't whip enough enthusiasm to search for the link, but since someone has kindly posted it I had a swift dekko. I'd have thought that eBay (or Lithium), in employing their Moderator team - who after all are meant to sit in judgment of adults - would have at the very least chose people with a bit more maturity.
No offence, but the group photograph of the individuals, look like a bunch of teenagers about to embark on a night on the lash in Ayia Napa.

...........and at night the adolescents moonlight, working at McDonald's..........impressive...........NOT !!!

Artie
That is not the mods you are seeing there. We never get to see the mods - the Lithium employees - the ones who just have the name IDs and politely tell us when we're getting a bit rowdy, or issue warnings etc.
Those in the pic are the eternally yoof-ful eBay employees - the eBay Community Team wot help run the Community, look into eBay issues and try to esclate or resolve eBay problems etc etc.
Yes, they do look a bit very young, and it would be good to see some more mature bods - mature is good, like a fine wine or port, a nice bit of proper matured cheese.
I guess it's also good to have fresh young veg in the mix too - if only there was a mix.
But as we oldies move inexorably into the west, it's the young ones coming up behind us, pushing their way ahead who are being courted as buyers in the main - never mind that we oldies may well have more free cash and time to spend it.
Ah well - at least we still have eBay Community bods.
