The pictures seem to be getting darker although I haven't changed any settings. It's a very simple Vivicam, about five years old.
Haven't dropped or done anything else to damage it.
Is it just worn out?
Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks for that Petal my paper manual is exactly that, a piece of paper.
Out now to get lunch for mother but will have a read when I get back.
Can't complain about the camera, it was very cheap at Argos when I first started listing things. It must have taken thousands of pictures for about £7.50.

It's possible that the light meter that sets the aperure/shutter speed/film speed is showing signs of wear or damage.
Or it could simply be something mechanical like the shutter speed is no longer reacting correctly (less likely to be the aperture, although it is possible) ie the light meter decides it should be 1/250th, but it's opening/closing at say 1/350th so letting in less light.
Probably as expensive, if not more, to repair than buy a new one
