I'm looking for a song, just a line was provoked by something someone said.
The line is "And the world turns".....
And no, it's not that eminem song!
It's an oldie, probably '60s. I can't even remember whether it's a male or female singer (strongly suspect it's F) or a group.
It's life Jim, but not as WE know it.
Live long and prosper.

I suppose all the old hands have departed the RT now?
Anyway, to the song. If the lyrics were being written line by line, that line of the song would be all on it's own line. As the line is sung, there's a slight hesitation before "turns" like this:-
"And the world turns"
I'm trying to remember more clues. I keep getting crossed lines with Andy Williams:-
Don't look so sad, I know it's over
But life goes on and this old world will keep on turnin'
It's life Jim, but not as WE know it.
Live long and prosper.

You're right there.
I'd remembered when I went to bed but by morning I'd forgotten again but When I got up, I remembered. It ain't half annoying to remember a line and nothing more.
Well, the world turns
And a hungry little boy with a runny nose
Plays in the street as the cold wind blows
In the ghetto
It's life Jim, but not as WE know it.
Live long and prosper.
