You know what? The new ebay and everything that goes /comes with it can be summed up in just one word: **bleep**!
When I see the completely overblown out of all proportions "sellers hub". Who needs all the stuff?
Professional sellers, maybe. Small private sellers like myself simply lose interest. The fun is out of ebay.
IMO - as I say, if you're easily offended, just stop reading- it's created a self-importance which it doesn't deserve.
Statistics, VAT this and managed payments that....why? I don't need all of that **bleep**e.
And I'm 100% convinced many others don't either. If ebay wants to get rid of small and private sellers, why not say so? Or, if they feel they have to police their sellers on behalf of the current rogue government, again, say so!
I had my very first ebay account when there was hardly anything on there, second hand things, nice ones and not so nice ones. And I went along with an ever growing ebay.
Other platforms have tried but failed.
The latest "May financial statement" is the last straw for me. How important can you make your monthly invoice sound? Ridiculous. Reminds me of the frog that inhaled more and more air to look big and successful until he just exploded. End of frog.
Luckily, the frog didn't have managed payment which would probably have meant loads of funeral ads on other social platforms, as our data is already being creamed off.
A breach in privacy, meaning our bank and personal details will be stolen, is just a question of time.
Gosh, I am disappointed and frightened by this new horrible ebay.

The bleeped word rhymes with hit. Just saying.

the seller hub provides everything a seller could possibly need,
you are supposed to customise it to suit YOUR needs and take out everything that you don't need
once customised you won't see all the statistics etc.

How about your read my post properly rather than lecturing me on things I said were completely irrevelant to average sellers like myself? Thanks for not replying to my thread.

I'm not 'lecturing' just pointing out a few facts!
you asked:-
Who needs all the stuff?
I pointed out that ebay have provided everything a seller might need and if you don't want to see something you can just remove it,
it is designed so that any size seller can use it and customise it to suit their own style of selling,
ebay aren't trying to get rid of small private sellers,
if they wanted to do that all they would need to do is insist that every seller is registered as a business with HMRC
as for the VAT it is the government that have insisted ebay collect the VAT nothing ebay can do to get away from that.

You will find that at some point all selling platforms will adopt the same system. Just a matter of time. If anyone earns anything, a record will be kept somewhere. There are "private sellers" on here with hundreds of active listings. Unfortunately they are making all these changes all the more justifiable, meanwhile, everyone is feeling the brunt of it. I saw someone come here and moan who lives in Brazil, has hundreds of listings, some for £100+, thinking it's a good idea to be noticed.
Pick up only for cash is what is getting targeted now. The preferred method is virtual currency and a system which will allows for easy tax collection.
All that is left are carboot sales, if you find one. Before anyone says facebook market, they are probably the worse for data collection, luring everyone into a false sense of security. There are going to be some with hefty tax bills hitting their doormats. You can bet your last penny on that.

I'm a private seller if ebay wanted to get rid they wouldn't be offering 1000 free listings a month. Also the platform like said is there for anyone and you can use it for whatever you need. I dont use half of it but i just pick and choose as some people say on here. To me you seem more offended that its not the old **bleep**py ebay were every dodgy person was on here. I am happier with the new payment management as i get paid daily now. Instead of PayPal constantly freezing my money every week and me having to upload the same **bleep** every month. The problems i have is all the fake on here , i cant compete with it and if i do the competitor just reports it as fake to get rid of me. Ebay do not check who reports who. They need to and maybe they should get like amazon and then we would get good prices. That's my down side and the loop hole. If you dont send tracked they can claim not received. I did a test and sent 50 packages not tracked. 3o said never received. None say it when it goes tracked but costs a fortune

Yes, we both thought the same thing 😉 Especially if you read his prvious posts. I wonder if anything comes out of his efforts.

Agree, over elaborate for just the occasional seller.Tired of being reminded how I need to add ever more detail to increase my marketing reach for just the odd items, always reluctant to give out my bank details held online, too easily hacked, preferred Paypal for my occasional items. Auctions only ever start to move near the final time so just use the buy it price. Tired of searching for another item but seeing sundry overseas cheap items alongside. Had my fun, inclined to agree with foxy.

They frighten me too! I have just pulled my first product for sale in year's, off sale. I now, refuse to sell with them! No DD for ebay and no, penaltie's for nothing, for me. I used to like selling on ebay, I do not like, what they have become now.

Maybe ebay would have a better reputaion if accounts like your declared they are a business and offered buyer remorse returns.

I wish they would insisit on seller registering with HMRC as far to many private accounts on the site who run a business, aviod business fees, offer no returns. Yet ebay keep going on about raising standards.
A private sellers does not need 1000 free listings a month.

you are selling 'seller refurbished' items on this account, yet you aren't registered as a business either!
