slow sales

dam computer didnt give me chance to post

I for 1 have not moved to the new so called better ebay payment method in this account  as to me its just another way that ebay is making money not that im selling that much at moment in my other account.

last weekend i sold 5 items in the account with the new system and it was tuesday before it hit my bank account so ebay had my money for 2 or 3 days earning interest on top of there charges.

When its time to be forced to move this account across to there new system i think its time to invest in my own site and move away from ebay all together.

as for slow sales i have had a go at them about it few times and lo and behold the sales go up for a week or two then dye off again so they do have control.

oh and by the way sphock and gumtree are also part of ebay as of 21st june

There are so so many threads and conspiracy theories all over the sellers boards and you may choose to believe them or not but I have been with Ebay for years and Managed payments (MP) has nothing to do with the slow sales, I know this as I changed over when it was first announced, no point delaying these things in my experience, so I signed up right at the start and it never effected my sale they were still strong.  My sales nose dived since May, as did many sellers, but remember this is when shops started reopening, pubs, sunshine, Euros, Olympics etc etc so if you only changed over to MP recently you will understandably make that connection.  Also I have a website and Etsy and they are also quiet so if all the conspiracy theories were right they wouldnt be suffering either.  Ppl are just getting back to normal and shopping locally etc.

What I will suggest is look at your listings, its catch 22 if your listings arent creating interest they will start to drop down the rankings and drop off the best match searches so revamp titles,  images and descriptions, its not always about price as you know.  As you say you contacted ebay and it went up again, they may have refreshed your listings as Ive called them in past years thinking that something was wrong, but I also get ups and down days sometimes I think "blimey someones switched me back on" and then next day hardly anything but what I do know from over 15yrs on Ebay is things will get better once schools are back and dark nights draw in so stick in there.

THANKS BUD

i have found that ebay does restrict accounts and that does affect the sales but ebay has been good to me in the past but the new system of payments sucks in my eyes.with paypal the money was there and you could see it straight away but if like me you have alot of small sales keeping track of them is a bit of a nightmare and then at 62 trying to remember what you are looking for 2 or 3 days later to see you got paid the correct amount is getting hard.im thinking its time to give up on ebay and do something else
