How long would it take you to remove a big lump of it and hit the trail?

Paypal wrongly credited some guys account by $92,233,720,368,547,800.

If that happened to you, would you lift about $20 Billion of it and disapear into the wilderness with it or calmly hand it back?

I think I would be tempted . :^O

I read them, CD. I must not have refreshed the screen again before doing my thread. Your thread certainly wasn't in view as I typed mine.
The question still remains though.

Contrary to popular belief, CD, I don't sit at one of our computers 24/7 and spend my waking hours hitting the refresh button. I sometimes venture out into the garden and, for a few short hours, I can be found sleeping in my bed. I think the early afteroon hours were spent emptying the washing machine and hanging sheets and shirts out on the line. The fabric conditioner smells great, BTW. I've put the dishwasher on so I may empty that later today.

I've had 2 firms ithdrawing from my account and one of them kindly put me into the red.

I going to be claiming the charges onto one of them at the least

One of the firms know they have done it and I was after them this morning as soon as they opened.

Id left three messages telling them what they'd done.

They rengwhen i was out and said if my wife could give some details of the account then they'd repay me.

She wasnt goong to be fooled.

Actually they only wanted the account number and the sort code which the bank told me was all thy needed.

I new that.

Im now waiting to hear from them.

The other firm know they did wrong nd sending me a cheque but its still keeping me in the red.

Somebody is gonna pay and thats not me.

They put me in the red so they can pay.

There appear to be two kinds of the classic ‘money received in error’ story: either a bank or individual accidentally paying money into your account or being overpaid by your employer. No matter how tempting it is, do not immediately go out and spend your windfall like a lottery winner.

Try to learn from the fate of a woman from Blackburn who, upon receiving £135,000 in error from the Abbey bank, went on a spending spree and ended up being sentenced to 10 months in prison. Or the New Zealand couple who fled the country with $6 million after wrongly being given a NZ $10 million overdraft and are now the subject of an international manhunt.

I know someone who had £6,000 paid in error to her account and it took a lot of effort on her part before her bank accepted they had made a mistake.

Tommy ..... you just don't understand pain, do you? Sometimes you would rather find fault with somebody than understand that pain, particular types of pain, attack in waves. Somedays you just can't move and some days you can hop about like a youngster. I'm kinder than that and just hope that you never suffer the same way that myself and thousands of other folk do.

In answer to the question, I would return the money but keep the interest... Woman LOL  (weird smilies...)

I had a similar thing happen but in reverse - not for that amount obviously - but about 50k where the bank had transferred it from my biz account and it showed up as a debit. They reimbursed the charges, paid me interest and sent me a bunch of flowers! Woman Surprised
