Q. Is your personal info up to date?

A. I have not changed my name or my date of birth for over 60 years, and if I had changed my address, my parcels would be going to the wrong place and I can assure you that I would have quickly rectified such an oversight.  So in short, my personal info is most certainly up to date, and I'm sure your time could be better spent than sending me stupid emails about the obvious.

There's rarely a day  goes by when someone asks what to do when they forgot to change their address and the item was delivered to a place they haven't lived at for years, so a reminder to check those details is a good idea.  The site is also awash with hacked accounts, so checking none of your details have been changed is also sensible.

It's also best to not click on any links contained in emails that ask you for "account updates".  Log on to the site the regular way and check such things once here.  I trust that eBay's message system will only contain messages that are genuinely from eBay... not so much my personal email... messages there could easily be sent by imposters.

Good for you...... but lots of people forget to update their phone numbers when they change, and seeing as ebay will permanently delete your account if you do not respond when contacted I'm personally glad they sent me an email first.

There is a fundamental problem with these messages. They ask you to " take a look at your personal info to confirm that it's still correct. " I went to my account details, not via the link but by logging in properly. There is no button or any other means whereby you can confirm that your current details are correct. I even tried changing a detail, then changing it back again and saving, but that still does not stop the email messages coming saying I haven't changed my details for a year. If ebay want us to confirm our details every year they should add a button in the personal info section whereby you can confirm that your details are still correct. "No Change" is going to be by far the most common answer. Very few people change their address or phone number every year.

It's been more than a year since you last updated your personal info.
Keeping your personal information up to date can help better protect your account.
Sounds like a good idea? All you have to do is go to eBay and take a look at your personal info to confirm that it's still correct. If you updated your personal info recently, please ignore this reminder.
