Saw a squirrel reduced to half price in Budgens, from a local game supplier.
Was almost tempted to buy it and try it - baked, braised, country style or oven fried.
Has anyone here tried squirrel? What does it taste like - rabbit??
If squirrel is OK, how about rat casserole?

I make it a habit not to eat anything that squeaks, having said that I've often been tempted by a well matured beaver.

Beaver ? OMG best accompanied by a fine Australian red, Badgers chuff is a good choice. meanwhile I remember someone cooking Squirrel on the telly in a competition and the judges spat it out.

Saw one where a guy on a Motorbike hit a pheasant with his head. The Bird was a write off while the bikers face looked like he had been in the ring with Mike Tyson.

I have heard that squirrel is very tasty but personally I'm not sure I could be bothered eating something that fiddely.
Bit like wild duck in that respect though I've had a few.
