Windows 8.1 user here. Upgraded from W7 when I built my new computer (The Mighty Viper - it's red, so it goes really fast!)

Hated it at first, took me a good 6 or so months to get used to it, but now it's awesome. worth the perserverence, and you can add all the little favourite quirks that you grew to love from W7.

Only downside is that you have to use their screensavers *blerk*. Cant use your own pic on W8

Can on your start screen tho

and just be really careful when you first set it up so as not to connect your email to it - opt out of that malarky! cos once you're in, can't uninstall it.
