'Er indoors wants a new dog.

So I'm open to suggestions.

All that I know for sure is that this new doggie needs to follow these rules.

It needs to be a puppy at around 9 to 12 weeks.

It needs to be complete with all Vet's bills, wormed, etc.

It needs to be a **bleep** so no marking it's territory with urinating all over the place.

It needs to be a small type of dog that grows up to be the size of a Westie.

So there you go. All types of dogs looked at if they fall into those categories.

Last but not least, must cost less than £500.

Ta very much for any suggestions.

Steve. xxx for the ladies.

Stevie ......gruff handshake for the lads

Hi, at 9 weeks old it will not have had all it's vaccinations as it won't be old enough, worming is an ongoing thing!
Your best bet is to go to a dog show & see the different breeds & their needs, also is it the right breed to be mixing with children etc,
As to marking it's territory , a **bleep** in theory comes into season every six months &is very often hormonal nine weeks later, so the only solution to both sexes is to have them desexed at the correct age which is not cheap. It very often pays to have them insured in case of unexpected vet bills, make sure that if you buy from a breeder that they follow good breeding practises , ie that they are breeding for the good of the breed & not just for looks &; money!

Sounds ideal .....

Hope you find what you are looking for ...we found our dog on an internet search as we did not want a puppy .

We wanted a BLACK and white Dalmatian , female around 1-2 years old with a good temperament in need of a new home for around £500.

After much searching we got a BROWN and white 6 month old and she is an absolute delight ...the most friendly and affectionate dog ever. That was 4 years ago ...best buy ever ...

Happy searching .......!

'Er indoors wants a new dog.

Thanks Guys.

A few things that I f forgot ......

It doesn't need KC pedigree papers 'cos it will purely be a family dog and stay at home with us.

Plenty of walks around here and lots of room in a fenced in rear garden.

The dog will be insured at around 6 months of age and "seasonal" stuff taken into consideration.

There are loads of dogs  on various websites but they a ll seem to be a hundred miles away from us. 200 miles of more.

Also, she wants a pure bred pup rather than a X-bred

Anyway, thanks again,

Steve

Jack Russell's are grand dogs and our nunmber 3 son has one and his house is constantly needing cleanig 'cos the dog sheds hair so much. It's a gorgeous dog bar that as well.

I should add that we've had dogs like these before.

We've had Standard West Yorkshire terriers, Austrailian terriers. Just like Westies but bigger.

The most suitable is one of these:-

They don't need taking for walks, don't need any food, never make a mess, won't cost a bomb at the vets, will still be there when you return from holiday and of course they don't cost a fortune to buy. All they ask is an occasional brushing.

Hello Steve.

Stay off the websites. And Puppy farms.  And have one older than you mentioned.  That's my advice.

As you may remember I'm a life member of Battersea Dogs Home. You will get exactly what you want there. And If you are just a bit flexible on the age often even exactly on the age you wish. You can phone first on 0843 509 444.

Although it is some way from you it's nice to know what you want is there...and it will be. And if you Google ''Battersea Dogs Home'' you will find out a great deal...and even see some dogs  right now.

Your trip there and back may take hours but what a wonderful and worthwhile trip and the dog WILL there and the be right the right one for you.  Perhaps have a meal nearby.  We did.  And will always get our dog from there.

Whatever you decide, it's always a good idea to see the mother. You won't get that from a pet shop, puppy farm or rescue centre and need to visit a licensed breeder. The mother will give you the best idea of what the young dog will turn out like, in looks, size, health and temperament.

Much the same for people, really. Smiley Frustrated

Also, I said earlier that we were checking the websites but that was just to get a look at the general idea of how t the dog  will look as it gets older, not really a a kind of place to  buy the dog from.
