john.........I'm a bit confused now, although I don't disagree with your post; saying all our ills aren't the fault of the EU and coming across as defending them somewhat.........you voted to come " out " didn't you ?

Had you broken your post up into paragraphs, I might have been able to read it. As it is I'm only ¼ of the way down, and already I've got a nasty attack of astigmatism.

I thought it was an excellent post Evo. Quite reasonable to suggest what he did and much of it fully justifiable. The EU has many faults already aired on here, there were also elements which were soundly based, no reason to deny the latter.  What is also true is that many, myself included, blame the EU for all our immigration problems yet in reality Polish people for example are not duty bound to stay here, if the economy were less attractive against say that of Portugal or Spain they would no doubt pursue options there and enjoy the climate as well.

None of this waters down the need to move forward but another element I agree with JB on is that once we do need more workers, is somone gonna get the growing number of freeloading game playing teens and twenties to accept their responsibilities and what happens to them when mummy and daddy pass away?

Yes, I thought his post was good too.......as I intimated. I was just trying to equate it to an " out " vote.Smiley Happy

Well its been said there wont be another vote, no matter how many signatures it gets. Also im hearing they wont contact the EU until another PM is picked, and that will be his job.

The EU on ther other hand is saying it should be done immediately, do not need to wait for a new PM..

I dont know what they need to negotiate with the EU before they send the letter, but lets face it certain people in the EU committee probably want us out anyway..

The EU didnt like the kick up the ar$$$ we give them did they

Now Scotland and Guernsey are having talks?

Nice rant john.b!

If it weren't for the lack of spacing and scarce exclamation marks, I'd have strongly suspected you of being another one of Bridget's alter-egos.

Yer Im welsh, but splitting up the country isn't good at all... > end rant

More than two million people have signed a petition calling for a second EU referendum, after the vote to leave.

It has more signatures than any other on the parliamentary website and as it has passed 100,000, Parliament will consider it for a debate.

Now 3 million.

Have heard it called "buyer's remorse" LOL.

Got to agree with Farage for once, "It's not best of three"

That would be the Farage that said in May that if the vote was 52-48 to remain, he would fight for a second referendum?!

Well regardless of who or what ANYBODY votes for, you got THAT^^^^^right. So, it follows that if we ever DO get one that does what they say and delivers results for the majority, regardless of the wealth or influence of the few, they'll carve their name into history; as being one of the best. When I look back at WW2, we were SO SO lucky to have had Churchill.......talk about the right man at the right time in history..........and with a breed of people then, who had steely determination ,TRUE grit and were ALL together.

I agree, but sometimes having a jack of ALL trades; but master of none, means you'll scrape through.........hopefully !!  For WW2 a jack of ALL trades, was the last thing we wanted or needed; it required somebody, a specialist in ONE thing......our survival.  Unfortunately, when that time was passed; he was no longer the best person for the NEW task, it may have been harsh at the time.......but he's remembered as the greatest Britain of all time......I think he'd be happy with that accolade.  That's also why having a strong prime minister is essential, but no MORE essential that the strong team that surrounds Him / Her............THEN, hopefully, they'll have everything covered........I don't see any other way.

Ok its me (Not welshhonestjohn) 🙂

New Zealand are offering the UK its top trade negotiators, to support the British civil service as it prepares for the exciting prospect of seeking new trade deals with countries across the globe. We simply made an offer that we as a country that is a long standing friend stands ready to be useful in anyway we can be.

Any newly liberated UK trade team will certainly be busy. Business Secretary Said Javid revealing he has had multiple offers to begin trade negotiations immediately with a number of nations, including Australia,South Korea, Canada, India and Mexico

The conservative minister also announced that he and Lord Price would be going on trade missions to China, Honk Kong and Brazil in order to strengthen Britain's links with other economies.

The world is our oyster

I'm sure Mr Churchill would be very happy with the referendum result. Being a supporter of Eugenics, one of his aims in life was the continuing improvement of the British race.
