Whether you agree or disagree with The thoughts of the LGBT community I do not like thoughts being imposed on me as it breaches my right to freedom of expression, in the specific instance here I believe that in common with you and I He has a right to an opinion what say you?

It appears that nothing the professor has written nor indeed said has been unlawful.

As such I cannot see any grounds for censure.

The way things are going, it seems to me that aggressive, activist groups no matter how objectionable will never be happy until they've browbeaten everyone else in society to adopt their minority views and condemn any criticism of such monority viewpoints.

It is no longer necessary for something written or said or be unlawful, as far as many are concerned, all that is needed for censure is that a person finds it offensive.

The present method for students to counter what they consider bad arguments, is not by producing better ones but to prevent them being heard.

I think rational debate is a dying art.  Even our politicians can’t manage it (at least in public). 

The Internet is like an echo box.  The loudest noise will drown out softer ones and the reverb keeps it going.

Absolutely right. I often mute the sound when one of those pompous, arrogant, ignorant news reporters are interviewing someone, they won't let them finish, they keep interrupting and I'm sure that when the interview is over, those interviewed feel like they've just got out of jail.

That mob who harrassed Anna Soubry was a fine example of the loudest noise drowning out a rational speaker.
