Are You Located Near Lakeside Essex And Like Going To Live Auctions.

~Hi all

I know this is a bit of a long shot but is there anyone reading the boards who is located in the Essex area within 5 miles or so of Lakeside who is intereted in going to land based auctions.

I like going to the auctions but it gets a little boring when you are on your own. I have an auction I go to ( will not name it ) but it is local to me ( 10 Miles ) and was thinking if you are interested in visiting auctions to give me a shout via instant message on here.

In other words do you buy to sell at Auctions?

Maybe I should mention I am 50 this year but wanted to get more involved in buying. I work from home doing the buying and selling now but wanted to increase the volume.....

Masny Thanks In Advance....

Can't help you on that one, but would like to say how I LOVE auctions.  The auctioneer of our local one - Bobbing, a mile from Sittingbourne (Medway town) knows his punters and me personally.  It's tremendous fun, pitting your wits against his.  You've set your limits, determined to go no higher - he's determined you will!  Six times out of ten you go over budget, but you go home happy.  It's a great way to spend a wet Sunday but really it's more fun if you've got somebody there to compare notes with.  I've never bought an item and lost money yet.  The best buys are the last hundred lots, because by then people have bought what they want and the last lots are there for the asking.  After five hours everybody's ready to go home!  God luck on your ventures.  I hope you find a fellow auction fan.  Anon, Fred.

Thanks for the reply...

I have had a few people I know who have got involved but after time they give up and go back to work for silly money. I can and have made more cash than they make in a week. It takes effort but it seems many just want a quick pound and that's it.

If you have seen the TV program " Delboys & Dealers " I know most of those on the show and go to the same auction as them, they are not really that special in anyway.

I will keep searching to find someone who wants to earn and have fun doing it, instead of being told what you have to do in the daily grind of full time employment.

Like you I have never lost money on items I have bought may it continue that way.

Best of luck.
