Anyone au-fait with baseball?

Anyone on here know much about baseball? If I've done this right, the video below should start at a point where two players seem to collide and another chap points to a spot. What's happened and what's that chap doing?

It is apparently Wade Boggs and Luis Sanchez (covering first base)

Wade Boggs is the batter who has tried to get to the base. Luis Sanchez is the one who has the ball thrown to him. I would gather that Wade Boggs was out as he failed to get to the base before Luis Sanchez

The umpire points to the base to indicate he's out.
