Hello
I concur with you !!
I have still few heated talks with my dad who is a fervent Muslim = not a fundamentalist & a great Man indeed & I respect him 100% !!
However when I tell him that I would like to meet "This great Man " & have a private word with him = why does people/children kill in his name for example my dad looks at me & I can assure you that I would not & have not backed down & stood my ground & dad will be left sighting & then will walk away = no answers really !!!
I also went to Koranic school when I was young (too wild & opened minded) & I can assure you that more than once my Imam if he could would have taken his eyes out would have done so due to the responses he got from me or if I challenged him regarding something said in the Koran or if I did not agree with something that he said = terrible girl really = dad was not impressed in the least may I add !!!

Hello
Yes indeed !!
My parents emigrated to Germany then France ( I pass you the details ) & some of their stories are terrible & has left their scars I can assure you as being an immigrant in France from North Africa (Algeria) & the still unresolved problems of the war with Algeria/France
Also one forgets that when you are up-rooted from your Country or have to leave due to conflict or other reasons & leave your loved ones behind & your "Culture" in order to survive in other "Alien " context the only thing one has left his either his/her Culture or his/her beliefs !!
One must not forget that indeed people in such a predicament will indeed integrate but won't lose their roots as it is & will always be an "Anchor" to their home country & the knowledge will be passed onto their children without any leeway & the traditions will be kept so tight that at one time or another a child might rebel against some of it or not in the light that the children are also living in another country & within their parents heritage with all that comes with it !!
I speak from experience indeed !!
However what happened in France was unacceptable & truly terrible !!!

BH Do not call me an Islamophobe because that is one thing I am not. We have a Mosque about a half a mile way from us and the Muslims who attend are well respected here in our community. I merely asked a question and you immediately were aggressive. I do not like any religion full stop but that is my choice and I am fully entitled to say it.

OK BH you have always maintained a consistent approach toward the So called RT haters ( your words not mine) it is also reasonable to suggest that on any forum which has traditionally drawn contributions from a wide variety of backgrounds, points of view, experience and education there are bound to be those who present things you don't like, disagree with or you feel are simply there to pedal a biased or even bigoted viewpoint. In fact in an extremely simplistic way this forum is representative of the type of human conflict that causes so many problems day in day out. However a strong hand was applied here in order that people might learn to listen to and respect the point of view others have. In my book that means accepting though not agreeing with individual comments ( not hate or stuff like that) and putting forward the type of comments which enhance the discussion not destroy it as happens so often.
We know the views we don't like, you have the facility to ignore or report someone who is clearly being unreasonable as opposed to outspoken.I think you consistently bang on about an individuals response being based on banner head lines, their sock puppet mentality or the standard of educational background.
Throughout history conflict resolution has relied upon at least some level of compromise. Malala is a truly remarkable young woman, in her short lifetime she has experienced more than most do in a lifetime. She is a figure of hope to many, a rare bright light who in taking the stand she does puts herself at extreme risk and potential assassination. She has an uphill battle, many Muslims are not yet ready or willing to embrace western values, why should they? Religion has been eroded so much within our own society that they and more importantly those who represent Muslims fear for the future of there traditions. When they see the antics of our own young people, the way girls go out on a Friday night dressed to pull, reasonable Muslims like Malala ask why they need to display themselves in such a way. We could tit for tat these arguments endlessly but essentially it's conservative views against liberal ones, religion versus commerce, the right to progress with the right to protect. And while we go off at a tangent atrocities on both sides continue.
But and this is where I came in, if we want to discuss it we can providing the discussion remains adult, non personal, on topic etc. Surely that's not such a big ask?
Are you aware using a new ID after previous ones have been banned for trolling is a big no no?

You contributions on this thread suggest otherwise.

No more aggressive than you were to Muslims. Besides, I didn't think you liked people walking on "eggshells"?

When you post on the forum of a shopping site, you are also inviting people to comment on what you've posted. If you don't like people commenting on what you've posted, perhaps writing anonymous graffiti on the wall of a public toilet would be the way ahead?

*slowhandclap* for the haters
"Muslim pupils across Britain are suffering a backlash of bullying and abuse following the Charlie Hebdo massacre amid a broad rise in Islamophobia in schools which the Government is failing to tackle, campaigners have told The Independent.
The sole UK charity monitoring anti-Muslim hate crime said it had recorded a “significant” increase in incidents in schools in the wake of the killings in Paris with both parents and teachers reporting verbal and physical attacks against Muslim students.
In one case, a teenage Muslim pupil at a school in Oxfordshire was this week allegedly slapped and called a “terrorist” by classmates after a teacher raised the murders of 12 people at the French magazine in a classroom discussion and suggested Muslims should be “challenged” by the display of cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed. The boy told his parents he did not wish to return to school."

There's another similar article here - although I suspect it will go over the heads of the haters and their strange bunny-boiling cheerleaders:

You see Every ordinary person has an extraordinary story to tell, Inspired, honest and nicely put. Compare that with comments littered with words like Haters or even Bunny Boilers and a clear comparison of talent over ignorance can reasonably be made.
Well, I use the word "hater" in regards to those who have an obvious hatred towards Muslims. As for "bunny boilers", well if you've seen Fatal Attraction, it's used to describe someone who has a disturbing obsession with an individual.
Just as well I don't have a pet rabbit eh?

Trust me your Rabbit is quite safe I cannot imagine anyone following that type of script. Haters are a different matter, I still believe they are in the minority and that the term is unhelpful at best.

So let me get this right...
Muslims = Fair game for mocking, ridiculing and harassing in the name of "free speech" to the point children are being bullied extensively in schools.
People with wingnut and/or obsessive tendencies = Do NOT under any circumstances use the words "haters" or "bunny boilers".
You really couldn't make this up!
