I agree, we must remember that there are many views and that for some experience may be home grown and based upon immigration viewed through a very narrow lens. Doing charity work is commendable but comes with many dangers too, I wish you every success if you choose to take that path.

I concur with you !!

I have still few heated talks with my dad who is a fervent Muslim = not a fundamentalist & a great Man indeed  & I respect him 100% !!

However when I tell him that I would like to meet "This great Man " & have a private word with him = why does people/children kill in his name for example my dad looks at me & I can assure you that I would not  & have not backed down & stood my ground & dad will be left sighting & then will walk away = no answers really !!!

I also went to Koranic school when I was young (too wild & opened minded) & I can assure you that more than once my Imam if he could would have taken his eyes out  would have done so due to the responses he got from me or if I challenged him regarding something said in the Koran or if I did not agree with something that he said  = terrible girl really = dad was not impressed in the least may I add !!!

Yes indeed !!

My parents emigrated to Germany then France ( I pass you the details ) & some of their stories are terrible & has left their scars I can assure you as being an immigrant in France from North Africa (Algeria) & the still unresolved problems of the war with Algeria/France

Also one forgets that when you are up-rooted from your Country or have to leave due to conflict or other reasons & leave your loved ones behind & your "Culture" in order to survive in other "Alien " context the only thing one has left his either his/her Culture or his/her beliefs !!

One must not forget that indeed people in such a predicament will indeed integrate but won't lose their roots as it is & will always be an "Anchor" to their home country & the knowledge will be passed onto their children without any leeway & the traditions will be kept so tight that at one time or another a child might rebel against some of it or not in the light that the children are also living in another country & within their parents heritage with all that comes with it !!

I speak from experience indeed !!

However what happened in France was unacceptable & truly terrible  !!!

BH Do not call me an Islamophobe because that is one thing I am not. We have a Mosque about a half a mile way from us and the Muslims who attend are well respected here in our community. I merely asked a question and you immediately were aggressive. I do not  like any religion full stop but that is my choice and I am fully entitled to say it.

She is a figure of hope to many, a rare bright light who in taking the stand she does puts herself at extreme risk and potential assassination. She has an uphill battle, many Muslims are not yet ready or willing to embrace western values, why should they? Religion has been eroded so much within our own society that they and more importantly those who represent Muslims fear for the future of there traditions. When they see the antics of our own young people,the way girls go out on a Friday night dressed to pull, reasonable Muslims like Malala ask why they need to display themselves in such a way. We could tit for tat these arguments endlessly but essentially it's conservative views against liberal ones, religion versus commerce, the right to progress with the right to protect. And while we go off at a tangent atrocities on both sides continue.
But and this is where I came in, if we want to discuss it we can providing the discussion remains adult, non personal, on topic etc. Surely that's not such a big ask?

Bullying requires no translation, it is unpleasant at best and very cruel at worst. It is not restricted to one section of society, The article adds little to this discussion although it does offer the poster another chance to spin things around. It is as unacceptable as many other forms of exploitation like the grooming of young women in the north west, Young girls from Eastern Europe forced to participate in the sex industry, The mutilation of women in parts of Africa the list is too long but there are many examples. The one chosen was to promote the view that many people are deserving of the "phobe" title so often used to pour scorn on individual opinion.

Well, I use the word "hater" in regards to those who have an obvious hatred towards Muslims. As for "bunny boilers", well if you've seen Fatal Attraction, it's used to describe someone who has a disturbing obsession with an individual.

Trust me your Rabbit is quite safe I cannot imagine anyone following that type of script. Haters are a different matter, I still believe they are in the minority and that the term is unhelpful at best.

Muslims = Fair game for mocking, ridiculing and harassing in the name of "free speech" to the point children are being bullied extensively in schools.

People with wingnut and/or obsessive tendencies = Do NOT under any circumstances use the words "haters" or "bunny boilers".
