A mosque has been praised for serving tea and biscuits to English Defence League supporters after the far-right group arranged a demonstration there.

I love it - best way they could handle it 🙂

I read this article, and thought it really cool.
Now, I am nor religious at all, but have no problems with those that are, unless they keep trying to shove it down my throat, and try to make me see the light...
What I thought was interesting was the lack of reporting (bad reporting in my opinion) about the EDL's response, actions, or viewpoint.
Did they accept the tea? did they play football?
It would have been interesting to get that info, but well done, the Mosque anyhow.
Sadly, if a lot more then only 6 EDL members had turned up, the article might not have been so cheery, and feel good.

it shows that like all other religions/faiths the majority of muslims are people

:^O sorry fiona but you've only just realised that?!
That was good news... small acorns and all that.
If only past governments had done more of that in years past, starting with the Balfour Declaration in 1917... then we wouldn't have all this nonsense.

This could have been lifted straight out of Terry Pratchetts novel , Night Watch, where the same thing happens, even the Tea & Biccys
I wonder if someone at the Mosque was listening to the serialisation being broadcast on Radio 4 , at the moment

It may only have been six, but out of those six, hopefully their attitudes will have changed, and maybe they won't show up again for EDL 'marches'
small steps
