Well, maybe just under 5 weeks and I'll be tweating Mrs Wabbit to a twip to Wales followed by a holly day in Scotland.

I had the pleasure of staying in a real Scottish castle in Speyside last year.

Look up Drummuir if you're interested.

dillon, I holiday in Speyside twice a year simply for research purposes of course ;-). Usually somehow manage to be up there around the whisky festival time but for the life of me cannot work out how that happens  😮  :^O

Speyside festival (either spring or autumn) is one I want to visit one day, but this visit really isn't about whisky. Or not totally ... even though we're going to Islay 😉

dillon, I am quite fortunate in that a friend has a 31 foot static caravan on his farm and I just let him know at the start of the year when I would like to go up and he does not let it out then.

He also does bed & breakfast and if required evening meal for extra and going by what I have heard it is good.

Hi all.

Unable to find a Scottish castle near The Atlantic for the dates we wanted :_|

Settled for a 5* Luxury B&B instead 😄

Great beaches within short drive 😄

Creators of my preferred liquid refreshment also within short drives :^O

return flight availability means we have to stay an extra night and I found a real Scottish castle not too far from EDI so we get a last night of extreme luxury 😄 at a similar price to the silly airport hotels our travel agent tried to offer 😛
