Hi,
I recently purchase an item from Ebay and paid from the item. The seller then accessed my address from Ebay and informed the delivery company of this address. Unfortunately the address was incorrect. For some reason Ebay had created a new address for myself without first consulting with myself. There were two address, one was the address proved by myself and is the correct address. The other is an address suggested by Ebay. It is completely wrong. The delivery company made an attempt to locate myself using this erroneous address and were unsuccessful. I gained knowledge of this address mix up when I contacted the seller. He sent me the address that had been provided to him by ebay. It made no sense. I have now received communication from the delivery company, evri , that the package is lost in their system. I have purchased a number of items from ebay, the most recent was May of this year. I had no problem with the delivery. Why has Ebay created a new address for myself when the one I created is the correct address. I do not blame the seller or the delivery company. I am holding Ebay accountable for this matter. Thank you.

Must admit this is a first for me. I have never known how and why eBay could, or would change some personal information on a seller's account.
There are 5 addresses you need to have correctly registered, do please check these now, and correct any if necessary.

You may need a laptop / PC and use Chrome to do the above.
If you wish to discuss this wrongful change of address with eBay, link below how to contact Customer Services , and please come back and tell us the outcome, as said, this is something I have not heard of happening before.
This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

Lines open 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. on weekdays
9 a.m. - 6 p.m. on weekends.
Automated agents will be available on chat outside of the above hours.
I do recommend contacting CS very first thing in the morning, when the lines first open, as there's more chance of Dublin answering.

Are you saying the address you used at checkout is different to the one the seller gave the courier?

This is very odd but the problem seems to have disappeared. From that link you attached I verified the addresses and I was unable to locate to incorrect address. I realize now that I should have taken a screen shot from my laptop and kept it for reference. The problem still exists I am still missing a package.

Just wondering if the item purchased is going to one of the eBay authentication centres before it is shipped to you? Presumably you would see on your order the extra high costs of the service but just wanted to check.

If a reasonable time passes your item's last estimated date for delivery and there is still no item, then open a case for item not received, and escalate on day 4 if not refunded beforehand.

Hi jkj4018, thanks for your post.
Just to clarify, changing addresses for both buyers a sellers is something we do not do at all. We've never done this, and we are not planning to do it either. Not sure what your seller told you, but I am thinking that probably the item was sold with GSP program or the AG program. When a seller sells using those programs, they have to send us the items first, and then we send it to your address (the one you provided at the time of checkout).
If you want, you can let me know the item number, so I can take a look to see what's actually happening with the transaction in question, but again, we do not change, update, modify addresses or anything like that.
Thank you,
Marco
