eBay collecting/not collecting VAT on purchases and buyers not knowing about it

eBay website (checkout page) needs to be updated ASAP.

Regarding deliveries to countries where eBay handles VAT collection.

What happens now:

* Sellers wasting their time contacting every single buyer who made a purchase over 150 GBP, trying to explain them what VAT is and whose responsibility is to pay it, EU UK relations, Brexit, etc, etc.

* Buyers leaving negative feedback about "unexpected" charges

* Sellers receiving BBEs because of negative feedback or INRs because of shipments being held at the customs (and buyers not knowing about it)

What must done:

A buyer must be clearly informed about ALL the following:

* their order amount being over 150 GBP

* their order amount being reduced in price by deducting a sellers local VAT rate (ie. UK buyers ordering from EU sellers who specify VAT rates in their listings)

* eBay not surcharging VAT like they do for orders lower than 150 GBP

* reminding them of their responsibility to pay VAT later (either to a shipping company or their local customs office)

I posted this yesterday and the described situation happened to me again. A buyer complaining about "unexpected" 80 GBP customs charge. I suppose what will happen next is he going to leave a neutral or a negative feedback. This is entirely stupid.
