eBay app unavailable android 9

Greetings all I have been cut off from eBay app since 4/2/25 I telephone eb. cs and have been informed it would right itself by Tues night but still no joy - any updates from others much appreciated

You need to get a device with Android 10 or over to be able to use the eBay app from now on

eBay won't be "fixing" anything, they expect you to upgrade your phone

Otherwise, just sign in via the phones browser on the normal website

Functionality is better via browser anyway

Hi appreciate your fast reply and clarification; disappointing news eBay have not informed members of this as far as I am aware bad for buyers forced to buy new phone though. Thanks again

Ebay are adding to the 'disposable' waste culture for technology and therefore with this action are bad for the environment. My phone operating system is supported for all other apps and works fine as it does for many thousands of other users with phones using Android 9. Prior to the latest update, my ebay app worked great. Can ebay make their old version available as well as their new version? I can accept that it won't have new whizzy functionality, but the old app was just fine. It seems utterly crazy for a large chunk of folks to have to bin our phones for the latest app, and the desktop site isn't great on mobiles.

Hi Tina, I've had this problem since early February and have been told by CS at eBay that there isn't going to be a back track on this and that I must upgrade my handset. I think we all message eBay to say that we will not use eBay for a month in protest, remove all our listings for a month too. I have a great phone which does not need replacing, but will only go to Android 9.  I very much resent having to change my handset, not to mention the total environmental waste that is likely caused by all the possible handsets being made obsolete by some bunch of idiots changing an app requirement for no real justified reason. I am very annoyed at being bullied in this way. Let's hope they gain some common sense soon.
