Why am I not able to add listings to my customised watch lists?

As of yesterday March 20th 2025 the option to add a listing to a customised watch list has seemingly vanished.  Is this an adjustment to the functionality or a glitch?

Thank you for your advice regarding this issue. I have logged out of eBay and logged in again as suggested, but unfortunately it has not resolved the issue.  I’ve tried using a different browser with the same result.  I then decided to clear my eBay history going back five days and restarted the computer, again no joy.  In the interim I thought of a workaround: save listings to the watch list, then from the watch list tick ‘add to custom list’, select the required list, then click ‘add’.   I received the customary ‘X number of items added to name of list’ and thought I had found a solution.  I repeated the sequence and then received the obligatory ‘ended or duplicate items cannot be added’ which tells me that the item has been added.  On checking the lists however, the items were not there.  Whilst a good idea (I thought) it didn’t work (initially) but I persevered, knowing from experience sometimes glitches occur on eBay and it finally took i.e. they’ve been added.  Seemingly I am not the only person experiencing this issue.  I encountered another user with the same problem on the community board but did not take note of their name.  Hopefully, the tech department at eBay will be able to fathom the issue and resolve it; sooner rather than later please.  In the meantime I will continue with my round-the-houses workaround.  Thank you again; your input is very much appreciated.

Addendum: The workaround works if you want to leave the items in the watch list, which I do not, as I do not want to be inundated with offers.  Deleting the items from the watch list also wipes out their presence on any custom lists…  Why eBay thought that deleting from the watch list should entitle the platform to erase the items from customised lists too is beyond me.  Anyway, I am now resorted to putting the items in my basket and then ‘save for later’ but of course this will not be able to be applied to those listings that are not BIN items.  I really do hope eBay get this sorted out soon please.

Yes, eBay changed something a while back, and ever since that change, deleting items from the Watch List also deletes items from other lists. This has been reported to eBay, but perhaps if more users report it, eBay may fix the issue. Use the "Tell us what you think" link in the upper right corner of the Watch List page to report this to eBay page developers.

Combined with your problem of not being able to add an item to your custom lists directly, this makes it difficult to use custom lists unless you leave those items on the Watch List.
