Is anyone else having this issue?
Is it a site wide problem?
Thanks

Today is eBay's Maintenance day, and many things are not possible from time to time, or they go awry for short periods, especially early on in the day when it's still early hours of the morning in eBay HQ, in CaliforNIA, and tech teams are tweaking and installing new systems.
Try a little later on, it should all be back to norm then.

Can do, but I'd like to replicate the problem - could you confirm the browser & version (from Help-> About) you are having trouble-with, the size and file-type of the images, and how does the failure show itself? ... is the button to add images greyed-out or inactive? ... does it let you select an image but then doesn't add the image? and just to confirm you get no error message?
PS - is this the old or the new message system? do either work for you on the browser??

I have exactly the same problem on both Firefox 132.0 (64-bit) and Safari Version 18.0.1 (19619.1.26.111.11, 19619) )browsers.
I attach a photo to a message reply, it loads and an image photo loads and is shown in the Attach section -- but then the whole page freezes. I can not send the message, cancel or even display the photo from the attached image. I have to force leave the page.

I have the same problem

Thx for adding useful detail.
This afternoon I sent a dozen or so messages with varying sized photos from FF132.0 using both new and classic messaging UIs without issues. These were done using Win10 and a few from Safari on my old iPad - but I am without a Mac so I am doubtful I would be able to duplicate the issue as presumably FF on iOS will necessarily be platform specific (unless using it within a VM?).
Aside - If you were to select multiple images to load - does it complete all of them before 'hanging' or just the first one?
If you have the browser console open does it show any issues which may be relevant?
If you could have a look at the FF tools->web dev tools console (requests tab) and see what shows up when you select an image to upload. Does it show a successful POST [200] code for each image? With the Errors, Warnings etc switched-on is it giving any other clues?
Does the Mac equivalent of the Task Manager show what the browser is up-to whilst it appears to be hung? Is it busy using a lot of system resourses? cpu? disk? network??
Perhaps someone with a Mac can help replicate - and perhaps roll-back to the prior browser release and see if it is browser specific.

Same problem here.
Windows 10 - Chrome.
Business account.
It looks like eBay is blocking the image because it breaches their T's and C's. I can assure you the images I've been trying to send don't breach any of eBay's terms.

Same problem on my end, I can't attach any pictures - I actually just reported the problem in another topic. This is happening on Windows on any browser.
You might also find that any message in your sent folder that had an apostrophe included now has the apostrophe replaced with a blank space? (For example "don't" becomes "don t"). For both problems to happen at the same time, this seems to be a related issue.

I agree with the apostrophe problem. That's bugging me too.
There appears to be a fundamental problem with eBay Messages that started just after the beginning of November. Firstly the page freezing after trying to attach photos to a message reply and also the apostrophe error.

Hi All,
Confirming on this thread as there have been other reports that there is an open ticket with tech at the moment for issues with attaching pictures to messages. I will add all accounts to the ticket who have reported the issue.
Once there is an update from tech I will post back on the thread.
Thank you,
Kat

Same problem with me today; I've had it previously where customers have not been able to share images with me.
