When I edit my search I delete letters in the search field mid centence or mid word the letter is erased then the cursor goes to the end of the line this is annoying when I'm editing several letters or words in my search is this normal or is there a setting I can change if so where can I find this setting.

This seems to be a bug on the app.  I don't think there is a way to avoid it. 

Hopefully they will deliver a fix in the New Year.  In the meantime I'd use the browser for searching as this seems to behave more like one might hope.   

Quite how such fundamental bugs get onto the live system is a mystery.

I've just noticed this too, along with the missing predictive text at the top of my phone keyboard meaning you have to type out the whole phrase that you want to search for

I have noticed this strange cursor behaviour, and also the fact that the search field seems to have become very laggy and even misses characters if I go too fast.

I expect this is an attempt at analysing user search terms on-the-fly in an attempt to improve results, with unintended consequences.

Others probably know this but I learned today the eBay app supports 'Shake to Report' ... assuming the device has the sensors and they are enabled then while the app is active then a shake should provide the option to report a technical problem with the app.

I presume the UX model is based on the idea of throwing your phone at the wall in frustration .. something I can entirely empathise with.

This is happening to me on a Google pixel 7 pro with the latest version of android/latest security patch. Also, the option to save a search has vanished. I contacted eBay customer support and they were very unhelpful. Their solution was to simply click the save option at the top of the screen. You know, the same save option that I was reporting WASN'T there......

Hi All,

Thanks to those for the details of devices used and operating systems. A ticket has been logged with tech. Usually with the app any fixes are put through with the next releases.  In the meantime once I get any updates from tech I will update the thread.

Using Apps/Mobiles can throw up random errors , try this --- Using a PC/Laptop --- suggest disabling any VPN and word processing (e.g. Grammarly) downloads --- may make a difference ??.

Pc is fine. Tablet and mobile both on android are the issue

Typing is also sluggish  ( The word Sluggish will appear as Sugsh in the search box )
