Save this search button has disappeared from the eBay app

I started a new search I wanted to save but "save this search" the button has disappeared from the eBay app today

I got round it by saving the search using a browser, but filtering searches before saving is very slow that way, which is why I usually use the app.

I've updated the app but it made no difference but at least I can see the saved searches I've already got.

So is anyone else having this problem or is it just me for this particular glitch.

Thank you for the post.

We have checked both the android and ios app and the save search function is showing. Can you double check you are signed into your when doing the search. Its usually the case when not signed in and doing a search the save search option is not showing.

On the good side ...

   ..... on my iPad I can see a ❤️ symbol next to a completed search query.

On the bad side ...

   .... on my Android phone I get no such icon. 

Is this consistent with what other folk are seeing???? 

(Would be helpful if the posts under Tech Queries also prompted folk to give the platform and versions they were using - might save needing to boil the ocean for edge cases.  Just a thought.)

Of course I'm signed in or how else would I see the searches I've already got.

My eBay app version says it's 6.239.0.2  but I don't know if that's a newish version or not.

But I did say in my original post that I updated the app so it's the latest I can get.

I'm using a Lenovo M10 FHD plus android tablet which is a few years old .

Anyway looks like it's not just me.

Well it was a glitch because it's come back today but definitely wasn't there yesterday.

Thanks for your reply.

That's strange it wasn't showing for some devices. We checked both android and ios yesterday and it was showing as an option.  If this happens again there is a quicker way to report it through the app.

Shake your phone while in the app and a pop up will appear with a blue button to " report a technical problem.

It is now showing for me, but it loses all the filters which is beyond annoying when I realised that I gave up and exited the app. I'm not going to repeat putting in my filter terms each time as there is already far to much dross and repeated items from single sellers that it's already annoying to use the app and site, this inability to retain filters in saved searches just pushes that annoyance beyond a level that is tolerable to continue. My time is precious I won't waste it on poorly designed apps and websites. When you lose a user it's hard to get them back. Make the app easier to use and more not less useful. It may have been a decision to make more items display as default but if that makes it harder to find what I'm looking for, ie take longer to find guess what, I'm not going to bother and that's a lost sale and lost commission. Also if someone was to stick with it, taking longer means fewer sales in the same time again resulting in less income. It's not really rocket science.

I just experienced the same problem on my iPhone 12 Pro. Is it possibly something to do with the 'Shop eBay live event' banner at the top of the page getting in the way of the save search button?

Thank you for your post.

Check to see you have the latest app version as there has been recent updates.

Android version 6.251.0.1 and works with android system 12 and up

IOS version 6.251.0 and works with IOS 18 or later
