Problems with QR codes on address labels.

When the address label is printed, the QR code is different to the one on the screen (I've scanned with my phone).  I can drop the QR code into a separate document and it prints OK.  I have already had an item returned to me because of this, and yesterday, I encountered the same problem with the QR code. It seems to happen only with Royal Mail labels. Any clues?

Thanks

As I understand it the QR code which you show at the post office includes extra info such that will allow them to generate the whole address label with sender info etc, whereas the other QR code for the posted item (which gets tracked) is the centre of the label they print (or you can print if you choose Printable label option).

It is unfortunate that they didn't give a different name to the code to show at the post office.

Problems with QR codes on address labels.

Thank you for that. I am totally bemused by the whole thing. eBay got back to me, saying that the buyer’s postcode was incorrect - it didn’t have the ‘gap’ in between one half and the other. This is not the case; the address and postcode are as they should be. I think I’ll have to risk it and post the item with what’s on the label. The whole experience of selling and advice are sold as being straightforward and smooth. However, when things go very wrong, you can spend 8 hours trying to navigate the unspecific ‘help’ pages, and find yourself back where you started!

Problems with QR codes on address labels.

If you are paying for shipping on your phone and taking it to the post office for them to print the label then I would expect it to be fine.  They should also generate for you a proof of postage which should be consistent with the info on eBay.  Please let us know how you get on - although I print my own labels - I do see a lot of other folk getting the Post Office to do the printing for them.

Problems with QR codes on address labels.

I did get it sorted eventually, but I'm still not sure how, and I still don't understand the QR & barcodes.

Thank you for taking the time to help me.

Problems with QR codes on address labels.

I am having problems getting started with 'printerless' postage.  I downloaded ebay's royal mail postage label and took a photo of the QR code in the middle of the label.  Took this to the post office but they said it was the 'wrong type' and couldn't produce a label.  I'm guessing there is an option somewhere on ebay to opt for the printerless QR code rather than the label (albeit that it has a QR code).  Does anyone know where this might be?
