No Reply option available in Community Forum

I can not find a Reply option for posts in the Forum.

Is this because there is a time limit to reply to a post ie: within a week or month of it appearing?

When a Solution has been accepted does that close the post preventing any more replies?

I did edit my post but now the Edit option has gone. Is this also time limited?

I have looked in the Community FAQ's but there is no information there about Reply or Edit.

There are many posts to which I too cannot reply. No idea why.

Threads do get locked / archived after a period of inactivity but the timeframe isn't set in stone. Posts on the Member To Member board can only be replied to by Mentors, ebay staff and the OP but posts on all the other boards are open to everyone.

Just had this now, trying to reply to a post posted today with one reply but no reply option.

What's the point in a members forum if you can't reply.

Can you post a link to the thread?  Then we have more chance of explaining why you can't reply.

That one's on the Member To Member board which is the only board where replies are restricted. (It's designed to just be more of a quick question and answer board.) Posts on the Member To Member board can only be replied to by Mentors, ebay staff and the OP but posts on all the other boards are open to everyone and up for long discussions if posters want.

I tried to reply to a different question and came across this one as I couldn't find a reply button either. The subjects I was trying to reply to were from people with bad experiences of getting counterfeit goods. I'm wondering if they don't like people talking about things like that? All the "Counterfeit" posts are blocked from replying to.

Which board were you trying to post your replies on?  Only the opening poster and mentors can post on the member to member board. 

There is no policy of blocking posts that refer to counterfeit goods.

That is on the eBay.com (US) ask a mentor board.

That's why you can't reply. Only US mentors can do so.

It's not very clear from the customer to understand. There were lots of
people asking why they can't reply to people.

Anyway, I presume there is a good reason.

That's on the member to member support board where only mentors or the original poster can reply.

The discussion boards are where anyone can reply.
