Help! I am fed up with struggling with messages!

Please will someone show me how to navigate ebay's awful messages layout?

I don't seem able to select the sent from the received - there's no "inbox" or "sent" any more.

I didn't think ebay's infernal tinkering  could get any worse, but this really is diabolical. It has made sending or trying to sort messages into a nightmare.

What was wrong with the old layout?

Did it just work too well?

If you are using a desktop browser, you should start here:

On the dot com site I see three separate "panels". On the left should be a list of folders starting with your inbox; in the center your message list; on the right whichever message you select or else a pigeon in a mailbox if you have not selected a message.

If you see only two panels, as I do on the UK site, click on the rectangular icon in the upper left with the arrow to reveal or hide the leftmost panel with links to your inbox, messages from members, sent, deleted and custom folders.
