Absolute garbage, it can be circumvented with a workaraound, and even if it couldn't be, you programmed this , so unprogram it, nobody wants or needs it

Kat left the conversation? Surely they should be listening to the users who, ultimately, help to pay their salaries.

The adblock fix has stopped working today.
Does anyone have a new solution? Otherwise I will have to delete items from my watch list as soon as they are sold, and the sellers won't get the benefit of "see seller's other items" which has often led me to buy from them.
Oh well, less business for ebay, more sellers and buyers going elsewhere...

Has it stopped working for you on .co.uk or .com or both ?
I'm not getting the 'Shop Similar' on co.uk at the moment.
However, it did stop working for a while (when I last posted) but I appear to have managed to re-enable the block on it somehow.

Try this custom rule:
www.ebay.co.uk##.m-item-3-col__inline-recs.stream-slot

Thanks, that works. But I wonder for how long...

You are welcome.
Most ad blockers have a built-in element hiding tool that can be used to block various page elements with a point and click interface to highlight what you want to block and then create a rule that blocks it.
It takes a bit of practice to use effectively, and not everything can be blocked, but that can be a powerful tool to deal with many annoying features, not just ads.

When I try to add any of the rules suggested above to AddBlock Plus free, the button to 'Add' never illuminates, i.e. the code isn't accepted. When I try to 'Block Element', it says click on the element to be blocked, but when I do, it just opens the link....in this case taking me to the 'similar item' that I don't want to see.....what am I doing wrong?

Probably depends on which browser you are using... but in Firefox you have to go via the menu bar:
Tools->Add-ons and Themes
then select 'Extensions' on the left.
'Adblock plus' should be one of the extensions on the right.
On the right of that right click on the '...' and select 'options' from the menu.
Then 'Advanced' on the left.
Then use the option to 'Add Filter List via URL'
Once added your custom filters appear below that button.

Yes, it looks like ebay have changed some code to stop people bypassing the 'Shop similar' nuisance.
I have noticed that the blocking line "www.ebay.co.uk##DIV[class="stream-slot m-item-card__inline-recs"]" still works on watched items viewed from the My Ebay/summary, but no longer works on watched items viewed via clicking on the watched items menu.
As mentioned, the extra line "www.ebay.co.uk##DIV[class="stream-slot m-item-3-col__inline-recs"]" is now needed watched items via the watched items menu.
Neither works for both methods of viewing watched items.
Incidentally, I have added a third line "www.ebay.co.uk##.YLYu.lzMA._5cM2" which seems to work at removing Similar Sponsored items, but that does affect every ebay page so for some people that may be too much blocked.

Try this rule, which seems to work for me on Watch List and Summary pages:
www.ebay.co.uk##DIV[class="carousel"]

Well found.

Eburtonlab's last message has mysteriously vanished, in the last few minutes. What happened? I read it, signed in to give it a "helpful" tag, and it wasn't there...
