Glitch or update system failure or new feature!

End item/relist or sell similar/schedule start/successful listing. Item STILL appears in ended & unsold. They used to disappear once scheduled. Doesn't happen if not using scheduled. Please tell me this is just a glitch... I've just had to cross reference my entire ended/unsolds list and discovered this error (update) started 25th May.

Re: Glitch or update system failure or new feature!

Hi angela-sells-stuff, thanks for your reply.

Just to confirm, you end the listing, or relist it, and it still shows in your unsold section? Same for scheduled listings, once you schedule them, they still show in your unsold section, is that correct?

Thank you,

Marco

Re: Glitch or update system failure or new feature!

Hi angela-sells-stuff, thanks for your post.

Do you have an item number or two that I could use to look into this for you please? I’m not aware of an issue about this at the moment, but if we are able to replicate the issue, we can report it to our technical team to get it fixed.

Thank you,

Marco

marco@ebay

Hi Marco,
Here are some new examples. I don't have any old examples, as I've since deleted the listings.

Here is the ended listing 127120053217 (Still is my ended/unsold lists despite being scheduled and relisted)
Here is the new listing 127181916035 scheduled 11.45am 17/06/2025

Another ended listing 127120068736
Its new listing 116655965497 scheduled 12.00 noon 17/06/2026

Ended listing 126991531895
New listing 127181965604 scheduled 12.15pm 17/06/2025

Ended listing 127120069905
new listing 127181977731

But I have managed to recreate the same glitch. End item, 'Unsold page' select 'Sell Similar' from the drop down box on item. 'Manage Drafts' page then schedule. Item doesn't disappear from the unsold list, nor does it when the scheduled listing goes live. This is only happening on Sell Similar, not when Relist is selected. Same glitch when clicking Sell Similar on the items page, doesn't happen if one uses Relist. But not affected by it being scheduled or not. Just when using Sell Similar.

Usually when an ended item is relisted/sell similar, then made live or scheduled it used to then disappear from the unsold/ended page but if one uses the Sell Similar the item now doesn't get removed from the unsold/ended page. This ends up with me making duplicate listings, as I don't realise that it is already listed. I'd noticed items in my unsold list dating back to 25/05/2025.

Re: Glitch or update system failure or new feature!

If this is a glitch, it's been around for ages.

When I end listings (usually for a major rejig of information), they go into the Unsold. Then I use Sell Similar to create a new draft.

When I complete the draft and list the item, I then go to Unsold and delete the unsold item - been doing it this way for years.

Re: Glitch or update system failure or new feature!

It doesn't sound like a glitch.

What has happened, is that eBay doesn't count "sell similar" as "relist".  They are two distinct processes.

On the Unsold Items page, the default page view is "ENDED AND NOT RELISTED".

If you use "relist", the item disappears from this view because it has been relisted.

If you use "sell similar", the item doesn't disappear because it hasn't (technically) been relisted.

What HAS changed recently, is that eBay have redesigned the "unsold items" page.  When you look at it now, it's not at all clear that it only shows items that haven't been relisted.

If you want to see the full "unsold items" list, including relisted items, you need to change the "STATUS" filter on the unsold items page.  It won't remember this  - you'll have to change it back every single time.
