Ebay Opening New Tabs for Every Item and Changing Search Results Fomat

So the open a new tab for every item is back and while you can change this under the settings and customise menu you can't stop it from opening new tabs when you click 'See Sellers other items'.  It also does this if you click any sponsored items.  Why is this?  I don't want lods of new tabs open.  ALso why does it not remember my settings each day?

Also the search results insist on showing cheapest item first even if I set it to ending soonest.  Again why?  ITs been like this for several days, do Ebay want people to stop looking for stuff?

Sadley its been like this for years, plenty of concerns re this but nothing has been done.

Anyone out there got a work around.

Hi how do you change it?? its so annoying why do these massive corporations have no interest in making a good product. I have like 20 tabs open and constantly have to close them... weird. I cannot see anywhere in the settings how to change this, you mean account settings? then I cannot see customize. I cannot see a settings menu, only account settings...

There are no permanent solutions to this - it all depends on how the code is butchered (sorry, written...) - or indeed which version of the code has been edited and released, as sometimes changes happen, then disappear only to reappear when the earlier version is re-released.

Whilst it is possible to change the settings it is a solution which will only apply for as long as the session is open. Altered settings are not saved so once you've closed your current eBay session you'll have to change settings again next time you log in.

Anyway, you can change your current settings by doing the following:

On a search results page click on the little tab next to the 'Sort' tab (showing 3 dots and horizontal bars) and select 'Customise'. You will see a pop-up like this:

Make any changes you wish, click 'Apply changes' and you're done. Until the next time you open a session at any rate...

Annoying though the opening new tabs can be it can also be useful when comparing two or more simliar items. And quite honestly having to re-set settings every time a new session is opened is just a faff.

So Ebay seem to be committed to displaying search results in a format they choose now.  Not only to we have to tell ebay ot to open links in a new tab, it now defaults to 60 items per page and has removed the picture size.  Why is Ebay not able to remember my settings (they even change mid session), resetting the format to my preferences each time is irritating and a waste of time.

Also why has the option to search by sub categories been removed as well, it makes the search function even more useless.

It shouldn't be the default setting. We can all Ctrl click on links to open them in new tabs. Honestly puts me off using ebay. I used the ebay app for ages because of this, but now they have broken that too. I think they just hate their customers.

I am back here because this is only a temporary fix. It doesn't stay fixed and so if the first thing you do is click on anything other than a search followed by these setting changes ebay will start opening tabs. If you close ebay, you have to go through the whole process again. It's a horrible user experience. I want it to always be "Open in same tab". Ctrl + click is how you open a link in a new tab. 

The worst part is, they keep asking for my feedback and I keep telling them to fix the new tab issue. I am clearly not alone in hating this issue. So I can only assume that ebay just hates its customers and wants them to get angry at their site.

It's clearly not a hard thing to fix. Just give us the options in our account settings, so that those of us who don't want a million tabs open can have "Open in same tab" as our default and anyone else can have ebay open so many tabs that their computer crashes.

Does eBay hate their customers or will they finally fix the new tabs issue?
