Deleted Messages Not Cleared After 90 Days ??

On clearing old messages I noticed the bin was full and looked for an option to clean it up looking up it stated the bin is deleted after 90 days but I scrolled back beyond a year using the app not even sure how far it will go back to 

Anyone have a solution to clear the stored messages in the bin cheers

eBay deletes messages on eBay's schedule. Emptying the Trash is not a user function.

Seems a bit mad storing over a year after it's deleted by the user. So the 90 days obviously doesn't mean nothing.  Not to mention the memory storage wasted.
