Change to royal mail shipping labels for international orders

I regularly send letter and large letters internationally using royal mail international standard. Normally when I buy my labels through ebay, I would be able to select letter or large letter when purchasing my shipping label.

Since some kind of update in dec, you can no longer do this and instead have to enter the package size. When i enter the package size for a large letter, it still only lets me buy standard letter labels. It doesn't matter what measurements i put in, even if i put in a huge parcel measurement, it still only lets me buy a "letter" label. Help! It's driving me insane. 

I looked at my listings to see if maybe theyre set as letters instead of large letters. And theyre set at the only royal mail option which is letter/large letter. 

Is this just a glitch on ebays/royal mails side? Im worried my orders wont get to where theyre meant to go as Im underpaying postage.

Oh dear! eBay has recently introduced their new 'Simple Delivery' system, so I'm wondering if this is what is causing the problem. I haven't seen what the new layout looks like, but perhaps someone who has will be able to shed more light on this for you.

If time is of the essence, would you be able to purchase your postage directly from the Royal Mail site?

I found a temporary work around for anyone with the same issue. Purchasing labels individually for international orders seems to give you the correct prices and options. Or as you said, alternatively- ordering through royal mail 🙂

Unfortunately, buying postage is going to be very different when this so-called 'Simple Delivery' becomes compulsory.  There are already several threads about it, & more to come, no doubt...

This has been broken for months. I haven't been able to purchase international labels for small and medium packages since at least September.

And even with the letters, it still spits out this if you try and print 6x4 labels.

 

Tech support told me a year ago they were fixing this with the highest priority, but now they say that's how it was designed and no changes are required...

Thanks for the work around. I normally buy postage in batches of about 20, of which 5 or 6 will normally be international. This will slow down my process considerably. As someone who tests software professionally I find it amazing that a huge company like ebay can release software that is so obviously broken, without proper testing.

I don't know what you're talking about, I did not write that. I do not run those accounts, you are confusing me with somebody else. I run this account which is registered as a business account and pay for a shop subscription.

You're welcome! I did my post in the afternoon so could have been fixed after you tried, or may be the fix isn't fully rolled out yet, hope it works for you!
