App not working, says update and won't.  Just stuck in a loop of trying to update and it saying it has the latest version. Whatever you did put it back the way it was

Security risk ??   so HSBC and Nationwide do not mind having their apps hacked?  just ebay not paying their developers enough to keep code in updates that was there in the first place, Amazon app still works so ebay will lose some more customers.  I am now having to do my listings as a draft on the computer and then load images up through the ebay website on my phone which is tedious as the screen is small and does not flow easily to get drop-downs.

Have you seen the latest announcement from eBay  ... updating the latest version guide?  It might be of help ?

The simple fix is to open your phone browser and go to www.ebay.co.uk/ and sign in 

Everything you need is there online

You just won't be able to use the app from now on

In fact you can do MORE than you can on the app 

And it isn't glitchy like the app

Not helpful at all if you have iOS 15 or below! Have tried using the browser on iPad. It is slow to load and sometimes takes ages when going back a page. I find the mobile app much easier to use than the browser!

Browser is way to slow. Sometimes it takes ages to sign in and loads slowly, especially when going back a page!

Choose to disagree. I find the browser much slower to use and sometimes takes ages to sign in. I don’t find the mobile app glitchy at all and find it more user friendly and covers everything I need to list an item.

Apologies for that, but it seems it has helped some, and as we are members here like yourself,  we can only relay any message / announcement eBay leave, some do not know to click on that eBay News link top left on these boards,  so links for any  ' update / help' ,  I can only repeat on these threads.

It's a mare , I'm not denying that.

I am an OAP with android 9. I am a sim only user and own my mobile. I am not in a position to purchase a new expensive mobile just to use Ebay. I have been a customer for over 14 years. I am really disappointed with Ebay.

I got ebay working again on my HUAWEI P Smart phone that is still on Android 8. quite easy all i did was removed ebay app as it was rubbish anyway and updated google chrome browser then logged back into the browser and happy days back online.  Result rollingpapersman 1 - 0 ebay 😀👍

You don't need to buy a new phone so don't worry i still use my old phone and i won't be buying a new phone just 4 ebay no way. I will stick with the browser for now.

I don't see why I get full support with all banking apps YouTube music Amazon all my other apps update just fine and I do not wish to upgrade my phone for multiple reasons

eBay have made the wrong decision here I will end up buying on platforms that still support my phone 

The desktop  version has issues such as messaging a seller without the product id which you don't need when the app was working. 

I also  think it's a bad show just stopping support with no notice 

The night it happened I wasted pointless hours trying to fix the app

I have no idea what differences there might be in the programming of the ebay app vs HSBC and Nationwide.

Believe it or not - those apps are....different.

It could well be an oversight by the developers of the ebay app - but it could be vital to ebay that they had to cease it working on older unsupported OS.

I have numerous other shopping apps including Amazon Temu I will shop on
there instead !

eBay will lose custom by excluding so many users with older phones

Especially the way they did it with no prior notice of it happening wasting
people's time trying to fix it when it suddenly stopped working
