hi, iv just had a buyer open up a case for a item they purchased on the 17th of December 2020, this is 51 days ago i thought they only had 30 days? what will happen if i ignore it? if he asked within the 30 days i would of given the refund, surely im not obliged too?
To add to the info already given a private seller running a business that is not registered has to accept returns for 12 months from the date of delivery and give a full refund of all costs.
The date they purchased it isn't counted. On eBay, the time limit to claim is 30 days from the latest estimated or actual delivery date. However, "in some limited situations, including the Christmas holiday period" eBay may extend the period of time in which a buyer is eligible for the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
I don't know whether eBay extended the time limit - if so, this hasn't been mentioned here - or what would happen if you ignore it. If the case is within the time limit eBay will simply enforce a refund and penalise you with an account defect. If it isn't, I don't know how they could open it in the first place. You should probably contact customer support for advice, if you can get through to them.
for not received they can open an eBay case one day after the last estimated delivery date and have 30 days to do it in.
they can open a not received PayPal case for 180 days from payment.
